View Full Version : As a Giants fan... LET'S GO LIONS!

Since I'm am not actually on the Giants and physically playing tomorrow...it makes no difference if I look past tomorrow's game and that's exactly what this thread is about.

If the Lions can somehow pull out a miracle and beat the Saints at their home tonight... the chances of a SB run go up exponentially. They can beat the Falcons at home, they can beat the Niners in San Fran and they can beat the Packers in GB but I have serious doubts that they can beat the Saints in the Superdome.

This game tonight is HUGE in relation to what this Giants team can do here.

Please don't post just worry about the Falcons tomorrow, blah blah blah. That's the players job, I'm a fan, I'm allowed to look forward.

ok ,

you asked for it ....and you got it.

having said that , i will also agree it would be awesome if the cards all fell the right way and we got to host the Lions for the NFC championship game.

i'll be throwing some serious voodoo at the saints for the next 3 hours.

I am also rooting for the Lions tonight.

You always want to see the stronger teams eliminated as soon as possible. No doubt the Saints are one of the strongest. The sooner they're out, the better.

also, I would like to see Payton / Brees go down - don't like em at all.

I'm far more worried about playing the Saints than the Packers.

But you'renot playing tomorrow, the Giants are ;)

I agree with the OP, a Lions win would be inthe Giantsbest interest. If we can make a run, the team that Ifear the most is theSaints. I think our odds are better against any other team in the NFC. We just don't seem to match up to the Saints well....and want to avoid teh SuperDome.

Yes we do.

But WE don't. The OP is correct.

I don't like doing stuff like this. Is it better on paper if the Saints lose? Of course. But I've learned that you should never "wish" for your opponents, it always comes back and bites you in the ***.

I'd rather they Giants beat the Falcons first of course. Then go to Green Bay and beat them. Then go to the Saints house and then beat them. Then beat whoever in the Super Bowl.

Saints getting the hometown calls. NFL wants a Saints Packers matchup. Lions getting hosed by the refs!

Well, WE only lose vicariously. So I don't know about you but I'll watch the other game, have dinner, go to bed and get up for work on Monday. Pretty much the same things I'll do if WE win (albeit vicariously, also). Except perhaps I'll dispense with the kicking of the dog and the beating of the wife.

The Saints are too tough to beat at home. Lions aren't coming back.

We're going to Green Bay next week (if we win tomorrow).

I've seen several bad spots favoring the saints. Not to mention the strip fumble of Brees was blown dead when it would of been a Lions TD.

Yep... would've been 21-7 Lions.. totally different game..

I'm starting to hate the Saints. The refs are allowing them to get away with murder.

I was just trying to say you shouldn't be looking ahead to other games, we still haven't beaten the Falcons, so what's the point of just ignoring them?

Yep saints went on a 17-0 run after that to take a 24-14 lead. Looks like lions just got one back now 24-21

I agree. Brees just converted a 3rd down and a flag went down. Was on lions just in case saints failed to keep drive going

Again, clear hold by saints oline "missed" and Sproles busts through a huge hole for a long TD.

If we played the Lions, the would be tough as well. Screw the Saints -- I hope we play them in the NFC Championship game; crash their o-line; knock Brees out for the game; and score 40+ points on them.

I WANT THE SAINTS!!!

I got the saints in that one. Hope Harbaugh gets his feelings hurt too.
