"Falcons LCB Brent Grimes (knee) is inactive for Sunday's Wild Card game against the Giants.
It's a huge blow for the Falcons after Grimes returned to practice on Friday and appeared to be on track to play. Atlanta's top corner, he'll be replaced by Dominique Franks. Along with Chris Owens, Franks will be tasked with slowing down elite Giants WR duo Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks. Also inactive for the Falcons are LB Stephen Nicholas, QB John Parker Wilson, WR Kerry Meier, G/T Kirk Chambers, C Brett Romberg and DE Cliff Matthews."

Hayden is on IR, it will be Franks most likely and Owens in the slot. I wish Barden wasn't inactive, he'd have a good 6 inches on almost all their DBs

yea, Grimes being inactive helps our receiving corps for sure.

hopefully Cruz, Manningham and Nicks can exploit that!

No it means Dominque Franks starts, and Franks has 2 INT in his last 3 games. He is no Grimes but has been pretty good.

This is huge news and the last db I would want out of our secondary. Good luck today giants. This news just increased your chances greatly.

Your best chance to exploit this is to attack Owens all game. He is our nickel CB.

This should also mean a heavier dose of turner and Matt Ryan really controlling the T.O.P to keep Eli and your WR off the field.

So pretty much all hands on deck for us, huge loss in Grimes for them.

Anyone else think of the Simpsons when they hear the name Grimes?

That's assuming Turner and your O-Line can get it done. Barring a game against a horrendous TB team, Turner has averaged around 3.3 YPC the past month. Don't forget about his bad groin too. He's not healthy.

After what the Giants have been through with injuries all I can say is they'll have to suck it up like the Giants have.

Their #1 CB is now Dunta Robinson, and Falcons fans I see don't even feel confident him.

Falcons fans must be worried. Imagine how worried you'd be is Webster was out and Ross became our #1 guy with Will Blackmon?

I don't like that barden is out again. I think it's more to do with not showing up in last outing then being hurt. He may get his final chance as giant next season if MM signs elsewhere.

Also looks like TC has finished with using D. Scott till next season

Franks got gifted by Freeman on a terrible pass high and inside eactly where Franks was. The other INT was a deflection straight up into the air, hardly a great play.

Not saying I know much about franks, but his ints aren't impressive.
