The more I watch of QB Ryan Tannehill the more I like him. He is still fairly new to the QB position in college having played WR at Texas A&amp;M. I see NFL accuracy all over his tape. He is able to thread a needle. Why some College QB's Im left wondering if they can hit small windows I dont worry about that with Tannehill because I can see it. He has the NFL body standing 6'5", very athletic and Mobile with his backround at WR. He is becoming a must Tape breakdown for me at QB. Right now Id put him 3rd right behind Luck and Barkley and I could see him moving up. My early Top 5 of draft eligible QB's</p>

1. Andrew Luck Stanford</p>

2. Matt Barkley USC</p>

3. Ryan Tannehill Texas A&amp;M</p>

4. Aaron Murray Georgia</p>

5. Landry Jones Oklahoma</p> I'm glad Aaron Murray gets some love, because the kid is good.. Hes the reason i really believed in GA this yr, but it looks as if its not enough to put them over the top..
The Question i want to ask u is what is your top 5 RB's and WR's..

I think our injuries are just to killer this yr, and i think were gonna be picking higher then we have in some time, so a diffrent group of first rounders is gonna really start garnering my attention...Not that i think our season is 100pct toast, just a possibility with the injury's we've suffered, which are catastrophic... If we ended up picking say 10th overall, i wonder if we'd pick a Alshon Jeffery if he were there? Something tells me if we picked 10th overall, we'd take Vontaze Burfict, and i really think hes gonna be a guy high on our list this yr... If we pick 10th, were probably getting a whole new regime coaching wise as well.. I'd love to get Bill O'brien in here, the guy knows offense, and i'd love to see a non gilbride offense..

Ya, i'm thinking based off only the one week we've seen so far, which isn't a whole lot to go with, that the GIANTS could(hopefully not), be a 10th-12th picking team in this yrs draft... If that were true(hopefully not), then the handful of guys this very early on i'd be thinking alot about(of course could change through season) are

Vontaze Burfict LB Arz St- As much as i love goff, this guy is just a animal!

Alshon Jeffery wr s.carolina- If he were to make it to us, it'd be very hard to not pair him with Hakeem, plus Hakeem seems brittle, and Mario is a FA soon(right?), and we don't have much after that, unless barden comes back soon and shows us what hes made of..

Dre Kirkpatrick CB Bama- Teaming Kirkpatrick with Prince, would be something, and possibly re-sign TT for cheap because of his injury... WOW! Then were talking!

Matt Kalil OT U.S.C- Our Oline looked wretched, and even though we got some nice young players there in Petrus and Brewer, we still could go get a OT early on to really try and solidify the positon and depth...

Jonathan Martin OT Stanford- See Kalil....

I know Ive worried about Burflict's character, expecially here in New York where those types of flaws are amplified. But, geeze that kid bring a load with him every tackle he makes is vicious. I cant help but think his play may outweigh the negatives.

yeah his character is the only that worries me. be nice to get him and bring in armstead to mentor him or hell see if AP is interested in coaching.

First, I don't want to make any pronouncements about the O-line based on one game. They've got the best O-line coach in the business, and I really do think they'll gel into a force to be reckoned with by week 3. Familiarity and trust is the only thing lacking at the moment, and that ain't going to be solved in the draft.

That being said, I do believe JR will take an OL somewhere in the mid rounds (3-5). Some 1st or 2nd round guy guy who fell after the big-name linemen were snapped up early, and then teams moved on to flashier positions like WR or RB.

I'd LOVE to get Jeffery. He and Nicks would be an absolute FORCE together. Could anyone imagine a 3-wide set with some combination of Nicks, Jeffery, Thomas, and Barden? That's also a lot of physicality for the running game as well.

Burfict would bring a mentality to the Giants D that they haven't had since the 80's. However, he's a BIG risk in NYC, and also as cautious as the refs are about hits, a vicious 10yrd sack won't do a damn bit of good if they hand out a 15yrd penalty and 1st down. It wouldn't surprise me if Burfict drops because of his "character" concerns... just look at Prince, and the only knock on him was a "quirky" sense of humor.

If the Giants pick somewhere in the 20's (either through trading down, or pulling it together and making a run), they may very well STILL have a shot at Burfict, and the choice may be between him and Jeff Fuller (who I'm quite high on at the moment... I see a lot of Nicks in him, except he's even bigger).

In fact, since there are some good, maybe even great QB's coming out this year, we could see a situation like this past draft where some great talent gets pushed down in favor of maybe reaching for a QB.

How tough would the choice be between Burfict, Fuller, Mike Martin, and Donta Paige-Moss?

Burfict is gonna go top 10... I would be surprised if he makes it to 10th overall pick, to be totally honest.. Hes a diffrence maker, a Patrick WIllis/Rey Lewis type player, having a full skill set to boot, not lagging in any area... WIth a full season of no trouble, i think he'll be fine by draft time... Burficts Draft stock is on the rise, his play is speaking volumes!

I love Jeff Fuller as well, and would be fine getting Fuller if we picked at the end of RD 1.. The thing is though, that there is a ton of ridiculous WR's, so we might be able to wait untill rd 3 and still pull off a Dwight Jones or a Devier Posey, Nick Toon, Marvin McNutt, Chris Owusu...etc And in Rd 2, u might be able to snag a Mahhumed Sanu, Juron Criner, or Ryan Broyles... Its a amazing draft for WR's, with depth galour..

As far as our Oline, u gotta remember, Kareem Mckenzie is at the end of the line, and outside of Brewer and Beatty, we don't have much there... I would like to see another stout OT brought in, and if a Johnathan Martin or Ryan Kalil are there, then we must think hard about it..

One more guy that excites me is Luke Kuechly.. This dude is also a nice fit for the Giants... I'd be very excited to have him on the team, and i would have no problem if we pick in the 20's, giving Chase Minnifeild a looksy....

Oh I LOVE Kuechly. Just imagine having him and a 100% Herz back together [:D]. He fits the Giants D well. Great instincts, hits hard, covers well, and he's rarely out of control. Travis Lewis and Te'o too.

I think Burfict is going to be really tough to predict until the year's over. If he lapses at all, it could kill his stock. Like I said, just look at Prince. There were people saying he was the best cover corner in the draft (or at least very close behind Peterson), but he fell because GM's were worried about his sense of humor.

I completely agree that Burfict is a difference maker and can change the whole complexion of a defense... But GM's constantly and consistently talk themselves out of picking good players for asinine reasons: Prince's sense of humor, Greg Jones being an inch too short, Hakeem Nicks not having the speed of Britt or Hayward-Bay, Colt McCoys height... Whatever the hell the reason is that Aaron Rogers fell.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of GM's (particularly ones on fragile/rebuilding teams) look at Burfict's aggression/reckless play and feel that the risks outweigh the rewards, and go for a guy like Zach Brown, Hightower, Upshaw, Te'o, Lewis, or Kuechly (damn there's a lot of good LB's coming up)

Regardless, it'd be a hell of a thing to suddenly be stacked at LB over the course of 2 seasons after being pretty pathetic for the better part of 15 years.

And I do agree about RT. I just don't see Reese grabbing a high round guy if the drop off isn't too great.

Ive gone through a lot of Burfict tape and the thing I see a lot ofis poor angles. He misplays a lot of runs that end up deep into the secondary because he is completly undisciplined. He will attack a runner with no regard. Will either just run right by the runner or take off into the air trying to spear the guy and miss completly. Theres a lot I like on Burficts tape. When he plays disciplined, He is a very special player. I could see him falling like ReyMaualuga into the 2nd round. Im not sure how Scouts are going to grade a Mike LB that isnt disciplined and cant stay in properposition. I dont know. Maybeive watched so much tape on him im going out of my way to see things wrong

DE WR OT CB and call me an idiot for this one...QB could all be our 1st round pick, and if we have a new staff bringing in a 3-4, a LBer is also very much in the mix.

It's obviously only the first game so alot of needs are going to change but I will say this, we really need Osi to come back and have a ridiculous year so we can rob someone in a trade because we really need to start stocking up on picks.

The Big East should of been more aggresive in recruting teams. TCU must be kicking themselves for joining that dead league. There going to get there BCS bid pulled. I read that Iowa State and Baylorwill join the Big East if the BIG 12 falls apart. If i was Texas Id go Independant. Quinton Coples just does not look like he is going to be an elite 4-3 pass rusher in the NFL. He lacksspeed and the ability to bend the corner. His style profiles more like a 3-4 End. In fact ive been disapointed with a lot of the pass rusher tape ive watched this year. Hoping Brandon Jenkins looks good tonight. The best pass rusher tape ive seen is Nick Perry of USC

Pittsburgh and Syracuse are trying to leave the Big East and go to the ACC

Big East is in trouble. There went a ton of their basketball revenue.
</p>

The Big East should of been more aggresive in recruting teams. TCU must be kicking themselves for joining that dead league. There going to get there BCS bid pulled. I read that Iowa State and Baylorwill join the Big East if the BIG 12 falls apart. If i was Texas Id go Independant. Why join a league that u have to win for a BCS berth. They could be like Notre Dame and suck but if they win 10 games they will get a BCS bid every year.</p>

Anyone watch WV MD want to know how Irvin plaed</p>

While I agree, the Big East doesnt have the firepower to recruit the names that would add value to the conference. There is little they can do.

Its all about TV deals and revenue. The Big East has somewhat poor revenue compared to the ACC/ Big 10 / Big 12/ and especially SEC. If you take away Pitt and Syracuse contributions to basketball revenue then the conference will likely fold or be force to recruit members well below its status.

There is a reason SEC is king, the TV deal they have is absurd. It dwarves almost all other major conference deals combined. This is revenue those school put into facilities and recruiting. The system itself is broken really. The Rich will get richer and the poor well get poorer.

5. Landry Jones Oklahoma</p>

What do you think of Griff the 3rd?

He definitely looked good against TCU... nice long ball [;)]
Yeah he has really bad technique. He is nowhere near as refined as the other guys that I listed here. There is physical talent but his mechanics are a train wreck. He has awful awful footwork. He is also another 1 read QB which makes it very difficult to know how he will handle a more complex NFL system. On the flip side everything Ive read about the guy is positive . Teammates love him and he isnt fake like how Cam Newton comes off. I think he should hang around another year at Baylor. Id like to see some more tape of him before I try to assign round valueidc how bad your technique is when your 41 of 49 for 624 yards 8tds and no picks completing 83% of your passes you can keep your technique!lol wish he had a tougher schedule early on as of now gotta wait till nov to really test this kid.

College Stats is not the best indicator of NFL Success. Not saying he hasnt looked good but he has mechanical issues. These things dont always show up until guys get into the NFL because its a completly different game. Playing QB in College and NFL are 2 different animals. The windows u have to throw the football are not the same..U have to be able to be comfortable standing in the pocket in the NFL to succeed "Unless your Michel Vick" and Griffinisnt there yet from the game ive watched. It doesnt mean these guys cant get better or adapt to the NFL game. In fact I think Griffin has a lot of room to get better. He has great athletic ability and I dont think he is fully tapping into it because he is sloppy back there.

</P>

Have U seen Burfict play this year? I didnt see the UC Davis game he had 3 sacks but that game to me means next to nothing to mebecause of the competition. He looked lethatgic and slow against Missouri . He over ran and misplayed play after play. Outside of the 1 sack he hurt the team more then he helped them. I admit Missouri isnt the best team to judge LB's because of there offense but still it wasnt good. Im watching the Illinois game now and the same type of thing so far. Hehad 1 nice hit on 3rd downbut besides thatnothing. He took a 15 yard PF penalty after the whistle but they dont show we hit did. He plays like this the rest of the year he wont go in the first round letaloneTop 10. Im very dissapointed in what im seeing.I thought hwe would build off last year and get better helooks worse</P>

Finally, the one guy on the Boise State defensive line who definitely isn’t getting the kind of love he deserves nationally is DE Shea McClellin. He was the one guy while watching Winn and Crawford who kept flashing on every game I broke down. He’s a solidly built kid at 6-3, 255 pounds, plays with a great motor and has an explosive first step to his game. Add in the fact he’s fluid off his pass rush while changing directions and even some pop into contact as a power player. He also has the versatility to line up at a number of spots on an NFL defense, just like he does at Boise State.</P>

In all honestly after studying some tape of him from 2010 and then watching him dominate the Georgia offensive line early this year, <FONT size=5>in my mind he’s one of the top senior pass-rushing prospects in this year’s draft.</FONT></P>

That guard let Wolfe just go right by him. Pead will probably go in the 3rd but not because of talent more to do with lack ofneed forRB's. If I had to guess Id say that there are at least 3 RB's ahead of him. Richardson, Pierce and Lamichael James maybe Lamar Miller who seems to be gaining a lot of steam. </P>

Man theres Audie Cole again I really like this guy. He isnt a MLB at all he is an OLB. He moves so well for a guy his size. Awesome size,He gets deep in his drops , he gets to the QB , creates turnovers.cant believe this guy isnt more noticed.</P>

picking 17th as of now(if draft happened today)
1 Zach Brown LB UNC(i just love this kid so </span><span>much! Just a beast!)
2 Dwayne Allen TE Cle</span><span>m
3 </span><span>markelle </span><span>martin CB Ok State
4 Keith Tandy CB W Va
5 Chandler Harnish QB no illinois
6 T-Bob Hebert C LSU
7 Derek </span><span>moye WR Penn St
</span>

First: Clowney on SC just had another stripnsack... kid is filthy.

next: I'd love to get Allen or Eifert in the 2nd (I like the idea of a TE named.'Effort')

think we got a shot at Janoris Jenkins in the 3rd? he could wind up being a huge steal (by the by, I'm still thinking o-line somewhere in 3-5) I don't think Janoris will get outta the very late 1st/Early 2nd. As for the Oline, i don't have a prob going there early, the prob with a <span>mock and draft in general is u can't get everything u need and we do have FA'cy also I would very </span><span>much like to get </span><span>matt reynolds OT BYU in RD 2 if Dwayne Allen isn't available

</SPAN>Yeahthis was by far his best game.I dolove watching him. I watch every game he plays,. He made some plays against Mizzou but overall he had a poor game.He wasover running plays, showing no gap discipline, leaving his feet instead of form tackling , just really sloppy undisciplined play

</SPAN>i know ive been trying to get redeye on board but he is hung up on his mechanics. kids arm is so freaking strong he doesnt really need mechanics. i mean if he steped into every throw i dont think anybody would be able to catch it. the touch this kid posses is amazing. some of the film ive seen his throwing motion kinda reminds me of cunningham's
Its not that I dont see the upside its that im not making a snap decision off weak competition. i want to see it against some of the better teams. He does have footwork issues though. Its not like it makes him any less of a QB but it is something. I think he could actually be a lot better then he is because he isnt using the full extent of his mobility because of it.When I seeaccuracy and or escapability against some NFL caliberplayers then i will debut him in my rankings.

Yeah when I do my Top 5's I want to be confident that he is better then the other players on the list.I just havent seen enough tape to make that judgement.Ryan Tannehill for instance didnt have a great second half yesterday but I still believe in his physical talent alot mainly from the LSU bowl game last year. He was throwing players open against Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborme and Tyrone Mathieu. He made precision NFL throws against a very good defense under pressure in his 6th game starting. He hasnt put together the stats like the other ones but his physical skill set and ability Is very ,very high. His decision making needs work but he is still fairly new to the position.

not that we moved far but after the win i got us at about pick 19 if we were drafting today This is my weekly mock based on where we are at that point(and also team needs may change based on someone stepping up or whatever) PICKING 19th OVERALL

1 michael brewster c ohio st(jacquian williams looks great as of now so i took out zach brown and put in brewster as our oline looks like it needs some beefing up and this moves baas back to G)

2 markelle martin s oklahoma st(i think dwayne allen is gone by pick 19 hence the change in picks Also S could use some speed and range to the positon)

3 Frank Alexander de oklahoma(this dudes a beast and looking better and better wk to wk Tenacious and looks to be a all effort guy to boot Stock is really rising)

4 George Bryan te nc state(perfect fit for our offense Having a down yr but more due to loss of russell wilson to wisconsin then anything else)

5 Kendall Wright wr baylor(nice slot WR that could be a chain mover for us and help with depth/ think emmanuel sanders)

6 David Ruffer k notre dame(i think its time to part ways with tynes Ruffer is really good and very accurate with a solid leg)

7 gary gray cb notre dame(solid for 7th round Could stand a chance to make squad and possibly more if things go his way

I think the Giants need to go safety early. Everyone seems happy with Phillips play but if those who were watching closely can see him getting there late. Yesterday First play Kafvka was in Giants were in Cover 1 and Man across underneath. Ross doesnt bite on Desean Jacksons move but had he that was a TD all the way. Phillips reaction time to the play was so slow he wasnt within 15 yards .

I think getting a C high would be a bit of a mistake. Baas is mediocre at G (he never made any noise at G in San Fran, but was a beast at C for them). They've got Koets at backup, and when healthy could probably push Baas.

If a C is far and away the BPA, I wouldn't have a problem with the pick... that strategy has worked pretty well so far. I'd just be a bit surprised if Luck/Barkley (and possibly Moore) don't push some great talent down.

Got his political science degree in 3 years and made the Honor roll every semester. Seems like an all around great guy hope he plays well against the big boys in a few weeks</P>

Ryan Tannehill NFL throw after NFL throw against Oklahoma.Hitting Far hash outs all day long. Great velocity and accuracy with very little separation from his WR's . Jeff Fuller getting no separation at all and Ryan fires it right in there. I think this kid is the real deal. His decision making can be suspect but im not sure if its just from lack of playing time

Agreed... I was telling people when Wisconsin was gonna be beastly when I saw his transfer. Not many listened though ;)

I could see earlier than 4th. He's not in Newton's class athletically (he's no slouch, but not many are in Cam's class), but I could see Cam Newton and Josh Freeman making him some money.

QB class looks pretty loaded this year...

One question though... probably a good half dozen NFL starter quality QB's could come out this year, and SC winds up with Stephen Garcia HOW!?!? I kinda can't blame Jeffery for not being in freakish shape.

I think its gonna be Burfict I like your choice of Upshaw to some 3/4 team picking in the late teens/real early 20's but burfict to me has that appeal of being a franchise changer ala Rey Lewis or Patrick Willis Still alot of time before the draft though so who knows what the deal is by then lol

Welp after a crazy WIN VS ARIZONA its now time for me to do my weekly mock based on where i believe were picking Checking on the teams that lost behind us(we were picking 24th going into this game) 2have lost and Tampa has to play So my mock is us PICKING 26TH OVERALL

(26th overall)

1 Dwayne Allen TE Clemson- There might be other value positon wise but ALLEN is a special TE that does it all and would really make our offense potent and complete I have completly fallen for Dwayne Allen He won't be there for us in RD 2 if we wait till after RD 1 because of how late were picking as of right now(26th in each rd)

2 Andre Branch DE Clemson- We double dip from Clemson this week I have liked Branch for awhile as hes very active with a JPP type motor and he wraps up well and has a athletic build built for pass rushing with obvious speed He had a ridiculous game tearing up Va Tech and just had me drewling! We could use another DE with OSI getting old and contract issues and Tuck all though not old is not young either

3 Keith Tandy CB WVirginia- I like tandy alot Hes very strong and active in the run and can probably roam around as a Safety with his size and solid speed as well Tandy has solid ball skills and is underrated in my opinion

4 Ryan Lindley QB S Diego St- If Lindley drops to Round 4 I think we take a chance on him based on us not having any young legit talent and this kids got a good pocket pass Size on him with a strong arm and has a nice easy looking release I actually think hes got a chance to be matt shaub like and eventually be pretty darn good

5 moe petrus C UCONN- This guys versatile having expierence at G and C playing C the last 2yrs and has done really well and i think will be FIRST TEAm ALL BIG EAST this yr SOlid strength and Solid size We could use a C and possibly put Baas back to Guard or Petrus can battle our own Petrus for playing time at G LOL

6 marc tyler RB USC- I like this kids raw power He could be a big steal down here We may draft another burly beast RB just because of BJ getting older and a bit slower by the yr and Tyler has the talent and size to be good if given a shot

7 Sean Cattouse S Cal- Solid player for depth if he can make team

I like that draft a lot.

Tandy might be a bit on the short side, given Reese's height/weight/speed preferences, but it depends on who else is there (I wouldn't be surprised, although I would be thrilled, to see Tank Carder drop to the 3rd... I haven't seen much of TCU other than their first game, but I haven't heard much from them either).

Now, I'm thinking a 3rd, 4th, and 6th (although it could be a 3rd and two 4th's) in comp picks for the FA losses, what would you do with those?

Also, I'm still not ruling Janoris Jenkins out as a possible early-mid round steal. He's a definite 1st rounder based on talent, but with his character red flags, and lowered level of competition, I have learned that there is almost NO bounds to GM's talking themselves out of a pick... Just look at Prince, he fell about 3x farther than he should have based on a "quirky sense of humor"... SERIOUSLY!??!?

7 Sean Cattouse S Cal- Solid player* for depth if he can make teamAs much as I love Clemson and I'd love to see the Giants finally start to take them, I don't know that I like drafting Allen and Branch with our first 2 picks. There's no question that Allen is a talent. The guy has fantastic hands and can create space. That said he's primarily a receiving TE, and is not good at blocking. I view him more as a square peg in a round hole in the Giants offense. Is he a playmaker? Sure. The problem is we don't use our TE's in that fashion. Our TE's are there to block first and catch second. That said, he also has some character issues that I hesitate with. Every play could be designed to go to him, and it wouldn't be enough. He's a diva just waiting to happen.

Branch is a guy who has really surprsed us this year. He's a guy who we always knew had talent, but he was buried on the depth chart and is finally getting his chance to shine. Not only does Branch have talent, but every single play he goes out there wanting to rip someone's head off. The guy is just mean in a very good way. I think the Giants could absolutely use him, but we have much greater needs (that and he may not be around in rd 2 if he keeps playing like he's been playing).

I agree that BRANCH may get his stock beyond 2nd round if he keeps playing like he has but this mock is for today and not tommorow LOL As far as Branch Being a need u gotta remember we don't know whats gonna happen with OSI and Tuck is not old but not young and behind them is only Dave Tollefson who had a great game yesterday but we don't know if he'll be back or what will happen We could certainly use another DE

Gotta give ya love on the sheer amount of Mocks you produce throughout the year. I dont know how you do it. I hate doing mocks even a couple weeks prior to the draft because it feels like too much guesswork to me. I couldnt imgane doing a mock now, let alone 1 per week.

Either way I love the 2 guys from Clemson. Allen's skillset is such a perfect fit for us. I seriously love how he snatches the ball out of the air. Its even more important for TEs to catch it cleanly than WRs since TEs work in traffic so often. He will be a good NFL TE, and I mean a TE, not a" hybrid h-back,wr, pretend your a TE" guy.

7 Sean Cattouse S Cal- Solid player for depth if he can make teamAs much as I love Clemson and I'd love to see the Giants finally start to take them, I don't know that I like drafting Allen and Branch with our first 2 picks.

I haven't heard anything about Charechter Concerns with Dwayne Allen I'll have to look into that I have heard hes a good blocker and from what i've seen i have to agree I haven't really seen him get overpowered in the Run Game and from what i heard hes the most complete TE in this draft I just love em and picking in Late 1st like my mock has us doing I don't think u can go wrong with getting the best all around at any position especially one as big a need as TE

I've been watching Allen since he was in high school. As I said, the guy is a playmaker. That said, his FR and SO years certainly left much to be desired in the blocking game. This year (new offense), his primary role is a receiving TE which perfectly fits his skill set. If the Giants drafted him and adjusted the offense to make TE a primary receiving option I'd be all for taking him. The character concerns are attitude related and not trouble making. Let's just say he thinks very highly of himself (which isn't always a bad thing, but it can be in certain instances).

I agree we don't know what's going to happen with Osi yet, but even if he leaves I'm comfortable with JPP and Tuck. I'd argue we have much greatert needs on OL and LB. Again, don't get me wrong, I think very highly of Branch. I remember when he committed, Rivals had him as a 2 star and everyone who knew anything knew it was a joke of a ranking. He's having a tremendous year so far, and is receiving some real good coaching. Against VT he used a speed rush on one of his sacks, and on the next one he began
with a speed and then changed his level to get low for a rip. It
wasn't that he was just going to rip through the LT that caught my eye,
it was the fact that he got skinny by turning his shoulders as he
changed his level. He made it difficult for the LT, giving him a smaller
area to engage, and it caused the LT to turn his shoulders and shorten
the corner. In years past, he was nothing but a speed rusher, and would often take himself out of plays. I think he's really matured as a player and it couldn't have come at a better time.

Anyhow I agree about allen hes a real deal TE and would fit our team like a glove! I guess hes not a super blocker but from what i seen he can get it done but probably not asked to because hes one of there best pass catchers on the team Branch is just a animal!

well players do get better as they go through college If they didn't then i'd worry lol I dissagree about DE though To me its a need because a team like the GIANTS needs more then 2 DE's to begin with and Tuck has been getting nicked up and injured on and of more and more lately and u see how quick a positon of non need can become a massive need all the time in the NFL(see GIANTS CB situation) The giants like having tons of pass rushers and i think Branch would fill in perfectly to what OSI gives us and JPP could slide into Tucks spot eventually fulltime or if and when hes out and while hes in there playing u can just use branch as a breather for either one as u see Tollefson do now or slide Tuck inside to DT and have your Pass Rush Terror formation with all 3(tuck/jpp/branch) all out there at the same time The 2positons the giants need to keep fully stocked is DT and DE That is how this team is run plain and simple

Of course it probably isn't the biggest area of need but Reese likes taking BPA and if your getting BRANCH in late RD 2(to be honest there is little chance of that) then hes probably the BPA Guard is another area we could go in RD 2 A guy like Kevin Zeitler comes to mind Also RT could be a move we make all though i think Brewer will eventually go the way of RT instead of LT as the GIANTS have said he'll be I think BEATTY is coming along and we'll eventually put BREWER over at RT if he pans out and i really liked BREWER coming out so i think he will

It wouldn't be the first time the Giants drafted a TE that excelled in receiving and they taught to block. At least he has the frame to do it.

Hey man, just thought you might like to hear something Dwayne Allen said today to Tigerillustrated:

Just thought of a nother nit to pick [;)]

Needs an athletic freak from USF [:D]

I think NFL teams are going to show up to USFs pro day this year in droves. They are becoming a strong program and an NFL feeder.

Its gonna get harder and harder to find the Jaquan Williams out of USF in the future.

Lamichael James injured his elbow in the 4th quarter againstCAL last night .Probably will miss a few games. Dont really understand why James was out there up 37-15 and with 30 carries for 239 yards under his belt but to each his own I guess.

nycsportzfan...another quote from Dwayne Allen. Looks like he's trying to get those character issues I mentioned behind him.

<font size="2"><span style="font-style:italic;">* “Leadership is
important. I think guys respect me because they've seen where I've come
from as the troublemaker on the team. I was a high-maintenance player
two years ago. We joke about <span style="font-weight:bold;">Mike Bellamy</span>
being a high maintenance player now. I was definitely the Mike Bellamy
here two years ago. It's a maturation process and guys appreciate how
hard I've worked to make this transformation into the man that I am.
When I speak, they listen.”</span></font>

1. LOVE it! i doubt we go that route but damn i would be ecstatic about it since he is a guy i fell in love with last season.

2. Great DE and if osi is truly on his way out i would be all for it. Personally i would like a true center like a Konz but if branch is the pick you cant complain.

3. like tandy but not in giants mold. seems like if they are not 6'+ they arent drafted by us. I could maybe see xavier rhodes or Donnie fletcher here if we go CB.Id really love it if Robert griffin was available here to groom behind eli but personally i dont think he makes it out of the 2nd

4. Great kid. I really hope we take a QB in this draft and not in the 6th or 7th. you know who i want but if we got this kid i wouldnt be at all upset. Kellen moore is another kid i would like if we went QB here. personally id like ty hilton here. if manningham doesnt step it up he might leave because we arent gonna give him big FA money. so that leave us with cruz, nicks, and jernigan which we have seen zip from.

5.not bad but i think we need to address the oline and in particular a TRUE center earlier than this. if we go oline i wouldnt mind some OT depth like a jeremiah sirles or a don barclay.

6. if he makes it that far...steal

For all his physical qualities being inexperienced at a position can only give u so much of an excuse. His decision making down the stretch of games has been horrendous. He is a guy thats going to have to sit for a year or 2 when he comes into the NFL. There defense doesnt help him out much either though

I don't watch too much college ball (lack of time) but I've grown very interested in mock drafts and what players we could possibly get in the future. With that said, here's a scenario where we trade Osi to the Patriots for Stevan Ridley (RB) and their 3rd round pick. I just don't think we will make cap space for him when we're fine at the pass-rush position and need help in other spots. Plus, this frees up cap room anyway.

1. Brandon Jenkins DE/OLB FSU - A phenomanal pass rusher from FSU. Jenkins is almost the same exact height and weight as Osi. The Giants love to add more talent at this position and he could give JPP and Tuck breaks during his rookie season. Long term, the ideal setup would be Jenkins at RE and JPP at LE.

2. Peter Konz C Wisconsin - So far, the O-line needs to be retooled big time. The biggest offender would have to be David Diehl, who apparently lost the tread on his tires last year. Konz is a decent-sized center that could be here for 10 years. Ideally, Konz would take over at Center while Baas would move to Left Guard.

3. Donnie Fletcher CB Boston College - The Giants like their cornerbacks big and able to play the run. Also, Fletcher is from BC and we know that the Giants have connections there. Ross is in a contract year and has had an up and down career and TT has suffered an ACL. Even though the Giants picked up Prince, they need more depth at CB.

3. Coby Fleener TE Stanford - Even if Ballard does have a good season, there's room for improvement still at the position. Beckum and Pascoe both haven't amounted to much.

4. Kenny Tate SS Maryland - A 6'4 220lb strong safety, gives the Giants another versatile defensive player who could gain weight and play linebacker at the NFL level or trim down and play safety.

5. Marc Tyler RB USC - A smaller type of power back, Tyler would be the replacement for Brandon Jacobs. A future trio of Ridley, Scott, and Tyler could be a scary three-headed monster for defenses to deal with.

6. Damarlo Belcher WR Indiana - The Plax replacement experiment with Barden has failed thus far due to the fact he can't get on the damn field. Belcher would be an excellent red-zone target for Eli with his 6'5 height.

7. Chandler Harnish QB Northern Illinois - A developmental QB who would be a good 3rd string QB behind Eli and Carr. An experienced QB who can also be a running threat, he's worth a look.

I got a couple vids coming this week of some under the radar edge rushers. Sean Porter Texas A&amp;M an OLB prospect and Illinois DE Whitney Mercilus.Im not happy with the consensus to p guys this year they just arent doing it for me. Vinny Curry is really the only one that has consistently looked good.</P>

An experienced QB who can also be a running threat, he's worth a look. i like it. would rathe a cb or dt in the first if no oline is there but cant hate on this mock

I dont feel sorry for anyone who was given 5 chances. I hope he turns himself around I wish him no ill. But I dont feel sorry for him.

I was at FL State when Randy Moss was kicked out. I played basketball with him on more than a few occasions. I can honestly say that I have never seen an athlete like him. I can also say that what he did to get kicked out was WAY beyond stupid. Only a snippet of it was ever released to the public.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for people who keep getting chances only to throw them away. The ones I feel for are the ones who never get chances.

one more while I'm at it: how about Clemson true freshman Sammy Watkins!? 335 all purpose yards, 3 TD's (so far, there's still 4:00 left). He pretty much shattered CJ Spiller's record tonight...

Not this years draft, bit definitely a kid to keep our eyes on.

Just had to say we needs to be taking Trent Richardson if given a opp I am sold on him and in love with him as a prospect! Not that its breaking news but i just kept overlooking him coming thinking about haivng bigger issues to fill other then RB but when i think about it I do think it makes some sense and when a guy like Trent makes any sense u take him!!!LoL If u can't fully think of a reason not to u take that stud! Hes gonna be a beast in the NFL! Were talking Arian Foster type talent here! I see him in that Arian Foster/ matt forte type bigger back with solid hands and solid speed for there size This guys gonna be a terror! U team Trent and Ahmad up and watch out!

Of course not having a Oline could be a issue LOL But we got FA'cy and rd's 2-7 and trades So we can't let Trent slip through our hands!

Brewster had yet another insanely good game blocking for a Team that only had 1reception and still had a seriously good RUN GAmE and were not talking about Option football here Brewster is incredible!

Casey Hayward with another great game and recording his 5th INT and 7tackles Hes insanely good

Fleener had a monster game with 4recept 128yrd 1td

Audie Cole was off

Don't know the extent of Harrells game but do know he had a huge 3rd and 8sack with Utah St at the bulldogs 26in final minutes and down 10 to secure WIN and was part of DEFENSE that shut down Utah St all 2nd half Harrells stock is on the rise

Daniels had another monsterly active game with a 14tackle 1pass defended game against FSU in a loss I like Daniels for possible ST"s play and maybe more down the line Hes ultra active and in on every play it seems

moye didn't play yesterday

Not bad at all for my mock crew!

personally, I like the concept of grabbing a later round qb with the idea of flipping him for a 2nd or 3rd in a year or two... to bad it hasn't worked out yet =\.

They need to get one they would actually trust to back up Eli.

Ok its mock time! With the WIN over BUFFALO i have us going from pick 22 to Pick 25 So this mock is us picking 25th overall in the 2012 draft(changes come also from things we find out in our play on the field wk to wk as well)

1 Luke Kuechly ILB BC- I think Kuechly could add the missing ingriedient to this LB core with his aggresive style and non stop motor and with Goff's injury its not a bad idea and if Kuechly is here at pick 25 its solid value

2 Chris Polk RB Washington- Jacobs days are numbered and we could use a bruiser with solid speed like Polk to team with Bradshaw going forward Polk is a load!

3 Kendall Reyes DT UCONN- If u don't know Reyes u should really start to! The guys having a fantastic season and with austin going to not played in 2yrs by the time he returns and Canty another yr older we gotta grab another stout DT for the rotation and possibly more down the road Reyes Can get to the QB and has a nice long reach he should be able to use batting balls and wrapping up rb's

4 William Vlachos C Bama- A very good C prospect who could either play behind Baas or kick Baas over to G I like Vlachos alot and think theres not a ton seperating him from guys like Pete Konz and Ben Jones The usually consensus 2-3 C's in this yrs draft behind Webster

5 Trumaine Johnson CB/S montana- my small school Gem for this yr goes to Johnson as hes got great size/speed combonation and can make plays and also Return Kicks if need be Hes a former WR Hes on teams Radars thats for sure This guy has a chance to be a steal

6 Chandler Harnish QB No Illinois- Can do it with feet and Arm Puts up bigtime numbers and is still doing it after losing guys like chad spann to the NFL A very fun kid to watch play No Illinois has been a huge point scoring team since Harnish took over

7 Jarett Boykin WR Va Tech- A solidly built (listed 6ft 2inc 222lb) big play WR would can make the tough grab and has been the "guy" at WR for Va tech for a few yrs now So deep at WR guys like Boykin should slip right through the cracks and we could use a guy for depth if we lose mario and with getting Jerrnigan last yr and Bardens injury problems it makes some sense to get a Bigger Bodied WR if possible

There is this Weeks mock!
