Watching that replay on NFLN last night of the 2007 NFC Championship, I had almost forgotten how absolutely sick to my stomach I was after Tynes missed those two 4th qtr FG's.

Even though I knew the outcome, I was still expecting him to miss the one in OT!!! Seriously though, when he misses it always seems to be the under 40yd kicks. The one he missed last weekend was only about 30-35 yds or so, right?

He HAS to make those moving forward. Although were probably going to need more than FG's this Sunday.

If it is that close, I like our chances.

I dont understand the beef with tynes. He's been solid year after for us. I don't want to hear "he sucks he missed a fg last week". He knew we didn't need it do he shanked it on purpose ;)

I don't have a problem with Tynes. If he chokes in the clutch, then I'll complain.

Once again concerning '07 -- first kick was from 40+ yards out and nobody had ever kicked a 40+ yard field goal in GB in January before until Tynes' 3rd attempt of that game. 2nd kick was a high snap.

At least he didn't flinch when coming out to kick that game winner. I've seen some kickers with a scared look on their face in that situation. I thought Scott Norwood looked that way before he came out for the famous "wide right."

I'm fine with that. He had his miss last week. He's good for a while.

Tynes misses in the NFCC made me sick as well. I wanted to break
something. But people who fail to acknowledge the ridiculously tough
conditions for him that day are not being rational. I just read a story
today that his whole foot was black from ankle to toes and after the
game he had to go to the hospital to have fluid drained from his foot.
He didn't kick again until the Weds before the SB. It was like kicking a
stool as Tolefson put it.

Is he the best kicker in the league? No. But I have confidence in him.
