Statistically, 2007 was better, but it seems that today's defense has a better pass rush. What do y'all think?

that is a hard question

DEs - Push

DTs - 2011

MLB - 2007

OLBs - Push

CBs - Push

Saftey - 2011

DC - 2007

????

I guess I would go by that and say 2011 player wise but its close enough

Our squad this year is much more talented. 2007 was a better overall defense. This year our defense was crap until the last few games.

2007 is a million times better, despite the fact taht we're more talented now.

2007 proved a lot more than the 2011 group has.

2011 has a lot more to prove.

Time will tell.

I got to tell you... I was watching the 2007 Packers Giants game replay and looked at the faces we had on D and currently I think we have way better players on the feild right now...

I think Spags would have totally donminated with these group of guys more than he did back then...

Let's see how these playoffs shake and then make the comparrison.

I love the guys we have on the field now. They are coming on so strong, especially when their mentors, (ie, Tuck, Osi etc) are playing so well also. The younger guys just seem to need experience, their determination is usually evident. However, one cannot dismiss Strahan, Pierce, those guys were hungry and had a mind set for defense. It's a toss up for me.

Imo the 2011 defense has all the potential to be better than the 2007 team, with the talent and youth on the team currently. I think the falcons game was the best they played all season, hopefully fewell and the D can keep it up against GB, no reason why they shouldnt be able to as long as they pressure rodgers consistently like theyve been pressuring the qb lately, and the D is obviuosly playing better than they were as of week13. After this weeks game at green bay it will be easier to compare them. like another poster said if they can keep gb 21pts or under we should be good.

I think it has potential to be better. Gotta go win a SB to even consider it imo.

With the rule changes I don't know how anybody can say this defense can be better than 2007.

Let's beat a tough team first as Atlanta, outside of a dome, stinks.

\seriously? how was the 96 D? i was real young and not really interested in footbal yet because i was like 4 years old. So i never watched any of the 90s teams, i started watching the giants in 02 and havent really missed a game since

2007 by a longshot...not even close

First Downs Allowed: 2007: 288 2011: 338

Offensive yards allowed: 2007: 4880 2011: 6022

Time of Possession opponents: 2007: 28:38 2011: 30:30

This doesn't include the 2007 road warriors playoff victories in Tampa Bay, Dallas, and Green Bay where they only gave up 14, 17, and 20 points.

This D didn't give up any points in their first playoff game o.O...just saying....kinda strange logic
