Watch that Auburn tape if u get a chance.. The kids a diffrence maker, strong tackler, and has a wonderful all around game.. Hes the best safety in this class.. Upside goes to Eric Reid, but overall right now, i love Baccari Rambo.. I'd love to steal him in the 2nd to take over for KP or even if we do retain KP, add to the unit with rambo..

Man, i like that tape of Short against IOWA.. As most know, i'm a huge Kawaan Short guys anyways, and i love his size, quickness, and burst to the ball carrier or qb.. Great hands as well.. I see some have em in the 2nd rd, and i woulden't be opposed to trading up in RD 2 for the awesome playmaking DT if he in fact does last into the 2nd.. I get goosebumps thinking about Short and Joseph side by side with JPP on one end for next 7-10 yrs..

I know teams are gonna pick up on it, and over time his stock is just gonna rise and rise.. All ready i've seen some moving em into RD 2, when hes somehow(i've been thinking there crazy) been in RD3 for most sites for awhile now.. Hes a ball hawk extrodinaire, and just knows how to created turnovers, and loves making plays and hits... Hes got the adequete size and speed as well...

U want guys on ur defense who are gonna make a diffrence, Baccari Rambo and Kawaan Short are 2 that are gonna make a diffrence.. Short is awesome at blocking kicks as well...

I like that Travis Kelce, as he lines up all over the place, is obviously a top notch blocking TE, and he can catch the ball, with solid hands.. Big guy to take down as well, helps beat on the Defense, and can gain a few more tough yards by bulldozing his way, and obviously in space, we've seen hes got solid speed..

One thing i noticed though, was it kinda took em awhile to get into pass catching phase of his routes.. Meaning, alot of times he was still trying to finish his routes when QB was all ready needing to throw it... Obviously some of that can be Oline, and it was sometimes, but sometimes i felt he was alittle slow finishing off his routes...

Overall, a nice looking prospect though... Seems like a GIants type player as well.. Looks like we drafted the wrong Cincy TE in my opinion...

Do you think it's because of limited athleticism on his part or the guy they put on the field for nickel packages is just that good in the eyes of the coaches? From what I've seen, he takes himself out of a few plays with recognition issues but he seems to be really good getting through traffic and finding the ballcarrier when he's in good position. I still stand on him being a 5th-6th round pick that can be a solid (nothing special though) LBer and it's not like our current unit has many solid players in the middle anyhow.

Made a real nice play on the 2nd play of this in pass coverage. Just not a lot of snaps with him on the field against the pass. Thats why I have to watch the Duke game. Read he was in on the Nickel package

I kind of pigeon holed him as an inside 3-4 backer didnt think he had the change of direction quickness for anything more than a Downhill thumper. Didnt look all that agile. To be honest though most of my time on FSU games are spent on other players

Fauria would be such a monster weapon for ELI in the pass game.. Hes not close to the blocker Bennett is, but his pass catching abilities are outrageous.. They were throwing 20yrd fade plays to em in back corner of endzone and lining em up just about everywhere during the season with success, and his redzone capabilities are outta this world.. He has the frame to add weight and i would think become a better blocker as well.. Fauria would make our pass offense downright unstoppable.. If he is around in the 4th rd , i don't know how u don't take em? Hes nasty!

My goal this week is to try to get into Kawann Short games he is the 1 Ive watched the least of the top 2 round guys. Hes very impressive.. Certainly 1st rd esque in my opinion.. A good sized, gap penetrator that stuffs the run and has a quick first step and makes impact plays,including on ST's, where he blocks kicks regularly...

yep I knew about the weight thing, but there are a couple run plays there were he gets side blocked 10 yards away from the designed hole and I dont see him even begin to put up a fight. What worries me is the possibility that it is an effort thing and not a fitness thing. As I said above, there are times when the runner is already through the hole and at the LB level before he locates the ballcarrier with his eyes. Granted Ball is a very good back, but he isnt a small scatback who should be that hard to find, especially with as straight forward a blocking system as Wisconsin uses. If you are being trap blocked to your right, that is because the ballcarrier is trying to go to your left, so your fight the block in that direction.

I also noted how often on passing plays he was just completely stonewalled in 1v1 blocks. That happens to everyone, in every game, even the best players. But you would hope when it does happen that the guy at least gets his hands up to force the Qb to maybe wait a half second longer to throw, or alter his trajectory, or change the passing lanes...etc. I dont even see him do that.

It appears as though he is capable of a nice burst at the snap sometimes. But when that burst doesnt get him immediate results i see a bit too much quit, or fatigue, or something. Whatever it is, in that video, I dont like it.

Again, I am not saying he isnt a good player, just that 1 game is horrid. If I am a NFL GM, I am putting that tape and asking a few questions of this kid. Because there are moments in that video where he looks like a day 3 pick.

Nah, i dont care if ur critical of Short santaman.. To each his own.. I never agreed about ur liking Tony Jefferson more then Kenny Vaccaro, as to each there own.. I'm completely sold on Kawaan Short, and hes been very consistent his entire career at Purdue.. I'm glad the game that he hasen't looked his best is against a team that simply is better then purdue, and churns out tons and tons of 1st, 2nd, nad 3rd rd olineman as well as Rb's...

Short simply is a impact DT, who is unique as he can play with a one gap and two gap mentality, as hes strong enough to hold up at the point, but can penetrate and make impact plays behind the line as well.. His quickness in small areas is second to none, and he uses his hands very well, hence why he can bat passes down and block kicks, and also force fumbles... He comes off like a blitzing LB at times, with how fast he ends up shooting the gap and gets to the ball carrier or QB, its quite remarkable... 19.5sacks, and 45TFL since 2010! Thats pretty dang consistent to say the least... I love how he uses his long arms and hands, and his burst off the ball.. I don't think theres a better DT in this class, as far as impact players... I think teams are overlooking this kid if anything, and hes a extremely safe bet... He kinda reminds me of a young cullen jenkins to be honest....

He tore up the Big10 the past couple yrs at a v ery consistent level and to think people talk about him not giving effort on every play and thats what hes doing, is scary.. Teams will think all they gotta do is motivate this guy and get him understanding how good he really can be with consistent effort, and they will have a perrenial probowler.. Hes got the size, strength, burst, and instincts to be one of the better DT's in football.. I love em..

This guy was like a 7th rd draft pick when i noticed em, and i thought he'd be great interior lineman that late, but since has moved up in to the 5-6rd range... Tough, big, nasty, and powerful.. Thats TJ Johnson... Could be next in the Shaun O'hara, Rich Seubert, Jeff Saturday type, to be drafted late or not at all and turn into a awesome player for yrs to come.. This dude is battle tested in the SEC as well..

call me crazy but i think mercilus drops to mid second round
not a chance.. I have said forever now, hes gonna be a big riser compared to where u see some have him in the very late first/ early 2nd, and i'd be shocked if he gets within 10picks of where we pick.. Hes the total package, with solid size, huge motor, and playmaking ability.. He lacks in no area, and is my number 1 guy, id be most excited to see there when we pick, which is saying something, considering how high i am on guy like Fletcher Cox and Dwayne Allen.. I also still believe that Casey Hayward will be to impossible to not realize like i have forever now, is a 1st round talent, a one of the op CB's in this deep class.. I would not be shocked to see Casey Hayward sneak into RD 1, as long as he does decent at the combine.. I feel the same way about Kawaan Short this yr as i did about Casey Hayward last yr.. I think come draft time, teams will be hard pressed to not notice the kinda impact player short can be, and will take em in RD1.. I know one thing, teams sure is heck wish tehy took hayward in RD1, thats for sure!

Based on that video, he gets pushed around too much by the heavier DE's too be a guard, and he has too short arms to be a LT. I think he can be an effective RT based on that though, and an average guard who plays better in the passing game than in the run.
