Wondering why the refs tried to make sure the Giants do not win? The headline says it all

Hopefully, Ed Hochuli and his crew will not be on the take because Leavy and hiscrew left no doubt who they were betting against.

Im sure Vegas has a very small influence on the outcome of the game.

Naturally the 3 teams who made the playoffs will be a favorite over a wild card team.

Basically all this article is saying IMO..

But Vegas takes bets on the SB winner throughout the season.

If you took the Giants during they're slump or at the begining of the season you stand to make 300 times your money which could be a significant chunk of change.

The 9ers probably had worse odds early in the season but the odds would have gotten much better as the season progressed.

who really cares about the purity of the game when so much money is at stake?

Certainly not the NFL Office! Other than trying to cover up pure incompetence, how else can you explain the "explanation"?

Didn't we make Vegas nearly commit suicide in our 07/08 SB Run?

UH folks...Vegas never "loses". The lines are set so that equal amount of $ is put down on either side of any given bet for a game or outcome.
The article says a Giant SB victory would be biggest loser. Correct. But that is easily made up by the $$$ bet on the Packers that they now have in the bank. It's all math and they NEVER lose in the long run. They just laugh at us silly folks that think we can outsmart them. HAHA!
