Coin Toss

All year long when the 49ers win the toss they elect to kick off as they like their defense on the field first to try and set the tone. If the Giants win the toss, should they elect to defer, and try and let THEIR defense set the tone, and perhaps throw the Niners off their routine?

We set a good tone for the game and never looked back. Ultimately I think we
have to do what we do, and not go out of character to try and play to another

I agree. First of all, this game I think our defense is more likely to make an initial statement if it takes the field first. Secondly, I like getting the ball to start the 2nd half.

I like to defer, mainly because 7-8 times out of ten your first offensive possession is more of a feeling out anyways and usually ends with a punt. I'd rather start the 2nd half with the ball after making adjustments. But I don't think it's a huge deal either way.
