And the eerie similarities to '07 just keep piling up. Wasn't Brady seen around town prior to SB 42 in a walking boot? And wasn't it some conspiracy theory to throw the Giants off making them think Brady was hurt? I saw the way Gronk twisted his ankle in that game - he should've broken it. But...according to this, he'll be raring to go for the SB

I don't care if this guy's in a body cast - nothing will be taken lightly!

If he or any player for that matter is on the field then they are a threat and should be treated as such...

Gronk will play short of it being amputated he will play. I HOPE he is 100% because IF we lose I want it be because you were better than the Pats and not because one of our best players was to hurt be effective.

(And the Pats need sign Pollard.. 1st he tears Brady's acl, then Welkers ACL, NOW he rolls up Gronks ankle guy is a killer of major Pats O talent lol)

Stuff like this makes you wonder..

He's a monster.. He'll be ready to go. Like the OP stated, I thought gronk had torn his ACL on the tackle. Rough play.

Gronk scares the hell out of me. Hernandez too. Those guys are nightmares.

Gronkowski will be fine. As will Nicks with his shoulder. They have 2 weeks to heal and prepare. Gronkowski, Hernandez and Welker are their 3 very dangerous weapons. Lets also not overlook Green-Ellis and Woodhead. 2 very good runners who provide a great change of pace to one another

I wouldn't be so sure. Remember Pouncey had the same injury last year and swore he would play and well didn't.

As for Brady I wouldn't be surprised if he was legit hurt on that sneak. He already had a bad shoulder.

Either way it's vital we have our run game going and naturally our pass rush.

Gronk will be fine but it doesn't matter. Ultimately the difference in this game is the Pats inability to stretch the field and our ability to stretch the field.

High ankle sprains are not to be taken lightly. Some can last for a long time. He did come back in the game though right? If so he could be fine for the game.

Yea but coming back to the game just means it wasn't fractured. If you can tolerate some pain, you can play until you let it sit and swell up real bad. In the course of the game while its still warm and loose, you'll be okay with a good tape job and a little something for the pain.

That said, this kid is a fantastic player with some throwback in him. He'll be as ready to go as he can be for the biggest game of his life and he will play.

Better! According to the NY Daily News article on comparing the Giants/Pats WAGs, Gronk was linked to a porn star:

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/ny-giants-ne-patriots-team-hottest-wags-gallery-1.1010607

Check out Pic #13. With a few exceptions, Pats are into supermodels, porn stars and Hooters girls while the Giants marry regular girls. But I gotta say - what's with the hiney on Cruz's gf?? Whoa!! She got some serious 'back'!

If he can stand and jog he can be used as a decoy.

I am not trying to jinx anything but

For some reason this reminds me of the Bradshaw situation we had early in the year. Bradshaw cracked a bone in his foot in the Dolphins game, got taped up and came back in. After the game he said he was fine and was good to go against the Pats. Bradshaw was out for like a month. I know that's a cracked bone but still.

Thing is - no matter how bad the injury is, the players/coaches, etc are going to downplay it and say it's 'fine' this much time out before the game. Why give the media fodder to write and tweet about? Why give the Giants an advantage (or unfair one)? They're not going to release any final word on this guy until they have to.

Also remember - Plax slipped in the shower and injured his ankle during Superbowl week. He was held down most of the game, until the winning TD and that was cake because he was wide open, didn't have to run deep and had almost 7 inches on Hobbs.

Patriot fans already have their excuses lock and loaded and ready to go. Gronk ankle and Brady left should injury excuses are already being used?

More details emerge:

Rob Gronkowski Injury Update: Patriots TE Reportedly Has Ligament Damage

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski injured his ankle during the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens. While the severity of the injury was not known after the game, he did leave the stadium in a walking boot.

Gronkowski was adamant that he would still play in the Super Bowl against the New York Giants on Feb. 5. As for his coach Bill Belichick, he reiterated that it is not easy to tell how serious an injury is based on how the player reacts to it during a game.

However, today details about the ankle injury emerged in a report: Gronkowski has "some ligament damage" in the ankle (via Ian R. Rapoport's Twitter). He obviously won't be 100 percent when he hits the field against the Giants, but there's not anyone who thinks he won't play in the game.

Ligament damage sounds serious. He may play but I doubt he will be 100% or even 50%. It looked really painful when it twisted. Major sprain.
