Tuck said it best. Never count out a Giant, never count out heart.

Everyone is comparing this team to '07, and rightfully so. Do you guys remember how we weren't even suppose to be in the playoffs? We were the little runts that squeaked in and were about to be one and done... until we weren't. Until the Giants flipped the script and went to Tampa Bay and did their thing. Then they went off to Dallas to face the team that was destined to have a showdown with the Pats in Arizona. And the Giants didn't lay down, they fought for every single yard during every play and won the game.

Then the Giants went to Green Bay. NO ONE could beat Bret Favre in -20 degree weather in Lambaue... no one but Eli Manning. No one but Michael Strahan, and Plaxico and Tom Coughlin and Brandon Jacobs and the NYG. Then off to Arizona. Nobody gave us a snowballs chance in hell. The Giants were the lamb being led to the slaughter. But then something special happened, something that will go down in history as one of the single greatest sports moments in the history of this game. Eli and Tyree and Plaxico and Strahan pulled out a miracle.

We heard this story before... The Giants will be nothing without Tiki, without Shockey, without Amani, without Plaxico, without Kevin Boss, without Steve Smith.

We shouldn't of even played the season. The Giants were suppose to be the bottom-feeders of the NFC-East this year. They were suppose to make way for the "Dream Team" and "America's Team" they were suppose to sit back and watch Michael Vick and Tony Romo put on circus performances while Eli led out a bunch of no-names to get destroyed every week.

But once again the Giants refused to lay down. Even after a huge slump down the stretch, getting tossed around by the NFC's top teams and with their backs against the ropes, the Giants kept fighting and proved to the Jets they weren't the 2nd rate team in New York.

And then the magic started again. The Giants started winning games no one gave them a snowball's shot in hell of being in. They weren't even suppose to be in the playoffs, let alone as contenders. Aaron Rodgers was suppose to have a cake-walk with them, Eli was suppose to fold like a house of cards to the 9ers defense, our team was suppose to be out of the playoffs before they even began.

Week after week, comeback win after comeback win, miracle after miracle, we've been watching something special, something magic.

And there's one more game. One more time for the Giants go out there and say that they aren't going to lay down for anybody, that they don't read the story-lines of what's suppose to happen. The Giants never heard the tale of Tom Terrific, because the only magic the Giants believe in is their own.

Also I think when the giants get into this mode it seems like FATE steps in and lends a helping hand (or helmet, lol). And everyone including the Patriots knows the old saying!

"You Can't fight FATE!!!"

Excellent post. The '11 Giants, much like the '07 ones, are a true team and all NFL fans know it. Let's get one more win guys.

Because the Giants organization is all about class. Always has been, always will be. What you see is what you get with the Giants. No gimics

Yet people believe we don't have any class.

I forgot we need to root for other teams that are called "the dream team"

It's a big reason, IMO, why the haters can never give Eli any credit -- he's got no desire to be the ring leader of a circus, like Vick / Eagles and Romo / 'boys. Experts never stop to think and remember that there's always a heck of a lot of elephant s*** to clean up at a circus.

The media needs guys like Brees leading chants in order to bring in ratings, while Eli just goes about his business. The mediaglorifies the guy who shows up at work, stands on his desk, and beats his chest. They just ignore the guy who goes into work early, works through lunch, works late, and then happily goes home to his family.

Great post and I would like to add:

It all comes down to the "culture" of the team that was started with the Maras and boosted by the Tisches and held in place by the coaches and GMs they hire. Its the reason the Giants get in and other teams dont. Its the reason the Giants win it and other teams dont. Its the reason the Giants fanbase is what it is.

Its starts with the ownership and works its way down. Other frachchises in the league are similar, have similar "cultures" and the results prove it. Steelers, Packers, Patriots, to name a few.

The Giants and similar franchises are organizations built on character not organizations built with characterS.

So there it is:

Ownership

Culture

Character

(note....I copied and pasted this from another thread I responded to. Seemed fitting here as well)

Great Post!! As I read this, my mind wandered back to the 07 season and images from those games flashed through my head, images of those headlines flashed through my head. A warmth unknown to most football fans started to flow through my body and then the chills climbed up my spine. We have one of the most classy organizations in all of sports. We have a fanbase of some of the most dedicated, wear-your-heart-on-your-sleeve, protective and knowledgeable people on this planet. I am proud to be apart of this fanbase and really do love my fellow G-men brothers whether or not I agree with their opinions. We as Giants fans have one thing in common and that is to have the best football organization ever known. Win or lose, we always comeback for another season together and this is what I see when I look at our team. They have finally done what they did back in 07 and that is geled as ONE unit. Take all that flash and talk and throw it away. I want our team to do the talking on the field. Add all this together and what you end up with is THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS & Fans!!! GO GIANTS!!!

Yeah that's one of the reasons I love the Giants so much. No gimmicks, no cheer-squad, no mascot.

Just give 'em a blue shirt and let 'em loose!

I like the fact that the NY Giants do things their own way--the old classy way. No cheerleaders. No circus attractions. Just a good football team that has a good team spirit. Our coaches treat other coaches with respect, win or lose. Our players, for the most part, are well-spoken individuals. Plus, we seem to never be out of contention for any game. Even if we are down by 3 TD's, there is the belief that our team can actually come back. Even if it is third down and 15 yards to go, we have seen our team make so many of those, so we have hope. Our defense has always had the reputation for being unyeilding--shutting teams down. On offense, we are skilled and explosive. We are rarely out of a game and can play with anyone in the league. Most of all, our coaches, players, fans, and the entire organization seems to try their best to foster an unselfish attitude. These factors all make us one of the funnest teams to root for in all of pro sports.

It's not just fun, it's pride for me. The Giants just do things the right way. I use to respect the Steelers, but Big Ben is scum. Not the same with Eli. 2 time MVP in the SB!!!!

I think it's great because analysts don't gush over us and predict us to win every game by default, and nobody gives us credit or respect. I'm a guy that operates with a chip on my shoulder, and I feel that the Giants are the same way. Our QB puts up the best season in franchise history and instead of getting recognition, the media talks about 5 other QB's before acknowledging him.

When we do win, there are always excuses and it is attributed to luck and people are often in disbelief and denial, and I think it's fun watching a team prover so many doubters and naysayers wrong, and watching them all get upset over it.

To see what Eli Manning is accomplishing, and people still question whether he is elite, it makes it all the more gratifying to watch him win. I mean, Aaron Rodgers doesn't even have to win and he gets all of the respect in the world, so if he wins it all, people just keep gushing, but Manning? His 1 SB was a "fluke" and he's "no better than Trent Dilfer". So now, it'll be fun to see people reach and grasp and claim that he was lucky to win 2 Super Bowls.

We are always counted out but look what happens.

We have drive.
We have faith.
We have heart. We have have desire.

We also have a defense that over achieves.
We also have the best pressure QB in NFL.

I bELIeve.
