Who cares anymore? It was years ago. If they beat us it's because they are the better team.

I hate the Pats as much as anyone, but I agree, it's dumb. It's unlikely to have had that much of an impact anyway.

+1. I don't think they won 3 SBs because of cheating. The year they were caught cheating ('07) was the year they went 18-0, and that was at the beginning of the season. They were still undefeated when the Giants played a game for the ages and beat them. </P>

Those were great NE teams. They've had some rougher patches over the past few years, but that's because BB decided (correctly IMO) to gut the defense and rebuild before the entire team got too old at the same time. Genius move IMO.</P>

<h5><span class="mw-headline" id="Videotaping_scandal">Videotaping scandal</span></h5>
<div class="rellink">Further information: 2010 Denver Broncos season#Videotaping scandal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Denver_Broncos_season#Videotaping_scandal)</div>

On November 27, in an incident reminiscient of the New England Patriots' videotaping controversy of 2007 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_National_Football_League_videotaping_controve rsy), The Denver Post (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Denver_Post) reported the Broncos were under investigation from the NFL (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League),
after it was reported that Steve Scarnecchia, the team's director of
video operations hired by McDaniels in 2009, videotaped a San Francisco 49ers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_49ers)' walkthrough practice, during the teams' Week 8 game at Wembley Stadium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wembley_Stadium) in London, England (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London,_England).<span>[</span>12<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-Post-11)</p>

The same day, the NFL fined the Broncos and McDaniels $50,000 each,
and Scarnecchia was fired as a result of the incident. Scarnecchia told
NFL investigators he acted alone and "knew it was wrong" to tape the
walkthrough practice, after the rest of the Broncos' staff had left the
stadium. Scarnecchia later presented McDaniels with the six-minute
video, but McDaniels declined to view it, and it was not shown to any
other Broncos staff member, and therefore the NFL determined the Broncos
had not gained a competitive advantage from it. An anonymous source
alerted the Broncos on November 8, who conducted an internal
investigation before alerting the NFL. NFL Security then began its
investigation, which included a forensic analysis of the computer from
which the recording was later deleted by Scarnecchia.<span>[</span>13<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-AP-12) Both the NFL and the Broncos determined that McDaniels knew nothing about the incident.<span>[</span>14<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-DPostFiring-13)</p>

However, the NFL fined McDaniels due to the fact that he did not
immediately report the incident to the league office, as required by
policy. The NFL also fined the Broncos, as "clubs are ultimately
accountable for the conduct of their employees."<span>[</span>13<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-AP-12)</p>

McDaniels later issued the following statement:<span>[</span>15<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-14)</p>
<blockquote>

"I apologize for not promptly reporting the improper conduct of our
video director before our game against the 49ers in London. The actions
of this individual are in no way representative of the values and
integrity held by myself, our players and coaches, and the entire Denver
Broncos organization. I understand the punishment from the National
Football League and support its commitment to the integrity of the game.
We have addressed the situation internally to assure that nothing like
this happens again."</p>
</blockquote>

According to The Denver Post (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Denver_Post),
the videotaping incident was a major factor in McDaniels' firing a week
later; while the Broncos did not deem it something that merited being
fired for cause, they considered his failure to report the incident
"unforgivable."<span>[</span>14<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-DPostFiring-13)</p><h3><span class="mw-headline" id="Return_to_New_England_Patriots">Return to New England Patriots</span></h3>

Following the 2011 season, the Rams fired Spagnuolo as head coach.
While McDaniels was under contract for the 2012 season, the Rams
informed him that they would not hold him to his contract, and would
allow him to leave.<span>[</span>16<span>]</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-15) The Patriots then hired McDaniels to act as an offensive assistant coach during their 201112 playoff (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011%E2%80%9312_NFL_playoffs) run, and to replace Bill O'Brien (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_O%27Brien_%28American_football%29)
as offensive coordinator for the 2012 season. O'Brien will leave the
Patriots after the 2011 season concludes to become head coach at Penn State (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penn_State_Nittany_Lions_football), but will maintain playcalling duties until he leaves.<span>[</span> (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josh_McDaniels#cite_note-patsreturn-1)
</p>

Now, the scoreboard "malfunctions" with the downs and causes confusion among the players and kicker. Cundiff had to sprint out there and rush his kick. Belichick even said he saw mass confusion on the sideline and decided not to ice the kicker. Just a coincidence? I think not. Belichick said "HEY MCDANIELS! BRING ALL YOU TAPES TO THE PATRIOTS."

Who cares anymore? It was years ago. If they beat us it's because they are the better team.

See! This is what I mean by imposters coming around to spread the bad mojo. What is your username on the Patriots fan forum? Huh?

Spygate is real. It happened and that was just the time they got caught. Why would you even care and what is this "if they beat us crap"? Kick Rocks!!

They will not beat us because they can't beat us. I know that you probably wish that they could. But the only reason the Giants weren't 14-2 is because of the injuries and the lack of consistency that poor performance can bring as a result. We have a healthy Pro bowl caliber Defense. Our whole secondary are 1st and 2nd round picks. Our front four just matched play for play with probably the youngest baddest Defense to not be in the Superbowl. Get you facts straight. Cruz,Nicks,Manningham and even Hynoski now are you kidding me What does Belicheck have besides Brady and two talented TE's Welker can be negated with hard hits, I've seen him knocked out before. Puleeze. I'm not buying what your selling. Notice that I hadn't even mentioned Eli Manning who beat the Packers in Lambeau in the playoffs, AGAIN, San Frans vaunted D couldn't even sniff his breaking point. He got knocked down about 17 times and I couldn't see his breaking point not even on the horizon. Ahmad Bradshaw is a Beast and runs like he's as big as Brandon Jacobs. And now our special tams is focused like a laser. You need to go back over to the Jets forum and stop it. Jet fans never truly root for us when they are down but we root for them when we are. I smell you Jet fan.

(Giants 31-- Patriots17)

I have almost 400 posts and have been here since 2009. You're an idiot. Until they're caught cheating again let it go.

This is actually what everyone is talking about, for those of us with internets (http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2012/01/24/ravens-kicking-consultant-cant-rule-out-new-england-patriots-cheating-in-afc-championship/)

The last 3 plays in the Baltimore game the scoreboard was one down behind, and there is speculation as to whether or not it was on purpose

The only OFFICIAL down marker is the one on the sticks and that was on the Raven's sideline. Harbaugh said he was aware of down and distance. He was just too stupid or stubborn to call a TO. END of Story.

Harbaugh obviously knew the down but Cundiff didn't know the down. Cundiff is on the sideline practicing his kick and not looking at the markers. He is assuming the scoreboard is correct. Suggs, Cundiff and Belichick admitted there was confusion on the sideline. It was Cundiff who had to sprint on the field and rush his kick. Just because Harbaugh was aware of the down that doesn't mean Cundiff knew. Harbaugh should have called a timeout but I don't think he was aware of Cundiff rushing and not knowing the down. Probably afraid he would have Garrett his kicker..... Fishy that scoreboard broke down at that particular moment and it helped the Patriots.

To me, All Harbaugh had to do is say Time Out, and regroup. He allowed the confusion to continue. The season was on the line. He guessed wrong, going at it in disaray. His kicker wasn't ready but Garett's was.
