View Full Version : If it's true why would Spags pick Eagles over Giants?

Makes zero sense... even if it is just a rumor.

Spags obviously has to be fired & not receiver a HC offer from another team.

We have more talent on defense. We have a much better QB & chance for success.

Asante is gone next year. DRC is awful. Their LBers are awful. Safeties are awful. Nobody on their defense can tackle.

He won a SB with us & if Fewell is gone we will need a DC... can't see why Spags would choose Philly over us if the opportunity presents itself.

First of all, why don't you start by telling us WHAT THE RUMOR IS.

Anyway, leaping to conclusions as to the rumor being about him going to Philly, he was on the Eagles staff for 8 years (1999-2006) and the Giants for only 2 (2007-2008).

A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that Andy Reid will have to
fire defensive coordinator Juan Castillo in order to stay on as Eagles
head coach.

The rumor in Philly is that Steve Spagnuolo will replace Castillo,
allowing Reid to hang on for at least one more season. Many Eagles fans
want Reid gone, but it would be in the organization's best interests to
keep most of the offensive staff because of the monetary commitment to
Michael Vick. Castillo has been an utter flop in his transition from
O-Line coach to D-Coordinator. He has not showed an ability to maximize
his personnel, often playing "man" corners like Nnamdi Asomugha and
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in zone coverage.

This is all hypothetical, but if the decision was between Giants and Eagles, I would imagine the Eagles Front Office would pants the Giants Front Office....again.</P>

The same reasons Steve Smith did:

#1, the Eagles WILL offer him a lot more money.

#2, no one wants to be associated with this organization it seems.

It's not like he can do any better here than when he left. What's the upside? Always being compared to 2007 (what year was it)?
