INDIANAPOLIS -- Some thought the reaction to Tom Brady’s
bigger party speech at a Gillette Stadium pep rally on Sunday was
overblown, but Tom Coughlin clearly took notice.

The Giants coach was asked on Friday if he felt his team was overconfident after some of their boasts this week here.

“I am not sure what you are referencing; I know there’s been one or
two quotes out there,” Coughlin said Friday in his final press
conference before Super Bowl XLVI against the Patriots. “But I think, to
be honest with you, I don’t think either one of them are any different
than Tom Brady’s.”

Giants defensive end Chris Canty told New Yorkers on Wednesday to
prepare for a parade. Safety Antrel Rolle said the Giants would win the
game, but cautioned that was not a guarantee.

“We’re going down there, and we’re going down there for one reason,”
is what Patriots quarterback Brady said to his fans before leaving for
the Super Bowl city. “We’re going to give it our best and hopefully
we’ll have a lot more people at our party next weekend.”

In what’s been a pretty tame week of smack talk, that qualifies as
the closest New England players have come to predicting victory. But
Coughlin sounded ready to make the most of it in his search for bulletin
board material.

“I think it’s just a matter of our team playing good football against
great football teams,” he said. “And, we always stress to our team:
humble enough to prepare, confident enough to perform. And that’s the
way we look at.”

The Giants are done meeting with the media and it will now start to feel more like the end of a normal work week.

“We are anxiously waiting now … Our players are excited about going
to the meeting room to the practice field,” Coughlin said. “We are
looking forward to today to our Friday practice and then going through
our Saturday routine and on to game day. So, the excitement has built up
through the course of the week and we are very much looking forward to
Super Bowl XLVI.”

Coughlin said he expects to have all 53 regular players available Sunday.

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw has practiced the past two days, which
differs from his normal routine; he usually opts to rest his aching feet
and only practice Friday. He siad he planned on doing the opposite,
saying Thursday he probably would not practice Friday, though Coughlin
did not confirm if that was the case.

“Ahmad has practiced the past two days, which is very unusual …
Everyone wants to be a part of it at this point in time,” Coughlin said.
“No one wants to be someone that is not going to participate in this
wonderful experience.

"We’ve had everyone on the practice field, and hopefully it will be that way on Sunday.”

I still think those quotes and Coughlin's remarks are a part of a head game being played

Hunter, really don't understand the non sequitur response to the ongoing discussion regarding the Giants' players' commentary to the media and if it has indeed been sanctioned by the team. Coughlin's statements do validate that there has been an awareness. NFLN is reporting the same commentary via Coughlin video. Personally, this is a change for me as I am rather 'old school' in terms of fostering inner confidence, but remaining publicly humble, but if Coughlin is OK with it I am encouraged. So, I respectfully ask, what was your point?

Yes Big Blue 418, this was very much a verification for me as well that this is a strategy in progress. And I'm All In!
