INDIANAPOLIS -- If you have ever caught a glimpse of the bright green wristband that New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck wears during games and wondered what it's about, Rachel Nichols has a tearjerking feature on the reason it's there. It's about Tuck's relationship with a boy named Evan Sullivano, who died from leukemia. Tuck befriended Evan during his illness, and the video details the effect it's had on him.

I said yesterday I think he is going to have a huge game. He has made it through a bunch of injuries and the loss of family members this year. I think today, especially with the extra rest, he comes out and has a monster game.

So...This explains the death to someone close to him earlier in the year. I assumed family (and yes I know he did in fact lose someone else, an Uncle I believe) But I know this was kind of hush, hush at the time. I wonder why it was kept quiet. Only reason I can think of is so that the media didn't hound this poor family at the time.
Tuck is a good one, on and off the field for sure.
