You knew that knee was blown out and you gave your all to try to get back on that field.

Go rest that knee superbowl champ.

He may have done more damage to it testing it on the sidelines...its going to be very hard just to get back by the beginning of next season.

Ballard you are my hero.

I read on twitter from RV that it's a torn meniscus

Hopefully just sprained. Would make playing in the NFL next season that much harder if it were worse.

Yeah, he almost certainly made it worse. I love the guy. I only hope he visits Dr. James Andrews makes a complete recovery and has a long and successful Giants career.

You know what, you are right! That shot of Jake Ballard giving it his all, trying to run...but his knee giving out. That was a total warrior right there. I knew when Ballard went down that he would not likely be back, because a guy with his toughness usually doesn't stay on the ground that long unless something is really wrong. It would be like Eli going down and staying down for several minutes...you would know that he was hurt bad. That's how I felt when Ballard went down. That is one tough guy. Thanks, Ballard.

Sad to see him just drop on the sideline.... But the knee feels a lot better when he has a championship ring on.

Here's hoping he'll be back for 2012. So happy to have him this year and Beckham came up big in the playoffs too.

The guy gave it 100% and then some so you gotta respect that. Diagnosed w/ a sprained knee (I think they said) and he was still trying to get back in the game to give it a go. Ballard has got heart that's for sure. It was hard to see him down on the sideline, though.

I tore my meniscus twice and it is hella painful. Surgery for sure but he will be back in time for the season opener next year. Maybe not for Beckum.
