Well, it is all about the salary cap. I think we will be OK but am not sure. We certainly won't have to pay Jacobs and I figure MM is unafordable. However we need to improve our OL, LB and maybe our DB crew. Hopefully TT makes a full recovery but that is not a guarantee. either way we'd get him cheap because of the injury (which stinks for him).

Our QB and receivers are among the very best in the league with NO and GB so we are in great shape to make another run with our talented D.

We're gonna see some player movement this offseason. Manningham, Osi, Jacobs, Thomas, and several other players could all seek free agent paydays/trades, and the Giants could see their roster pilfered a little bit. However, I think JR will be a bit more active in free agency this year than he was last year and get a LB, OL, and some other players to fill out the roster for next year. Also, we need to draft well again. All I can say is, In Reese I Trust!

I think the cap is going to be an issue

Any agent worth their salt is going to ask for JPP and Cruz raises.

Guessing:

Osi is gone
McKennzie is gone
Diehl is likely gone
Jacobs is gone
Manningham is gone

and those might be the easy decisions.

I agree with everything both of you said, especially that part about ANOTHER ONE!. Besides Jomo's list, I'm also now concerned about TE after the toll taken yesterday - and a little unsettled on what we actually have in our young RB's.

As much as it saddens me, Osi/Jacobs will probably be sent packing for mid round picks. Manningham will probably capitalize on his recent stardom, and seek a big-time starters salary from a team in need of receiver help (honestly can't blame him, though I want him to stay). Diehl/McKenzie will probably be cut like Seubert and O'Hara were this past off-season. Cruz will seek a new contract, and deserves one. But I think JR will be more likely to spend more $ on free agents this year with some of those aforementioned salaries coming off the books.

It's going to hurt if/when we lose Jacobs, Manningham, and/or Osi. :(

Unfortunately so will the Packers, Saints, Eagles and 49ers.

No question G-men will be in the mix but it always harder to repeat

Yeah, we are not going to sneak up on anybody next year. The last time the Giants had a target on their back in '08, they started 10-1...until Plax decided to go Cheddar Bob on his leg. If JR can get this offensive line back to what it was 3-4 years ago, the running game will no doubt get back on track. Also, the linebackers could use an upgrade. We shall see how the next 6 months shape up in preparation of our title defense.

I think they have a good one with Prince and the 2nd round pick, Austin, could be a great addition to the team next year.

I think losing Manningham is going to hurt more than people realize.

The OL needs a lot of work. I know they just win the Super Bowl, but they had the worst running game in the league.

As for the secondary, they have a lot of questions. Do they sign Ross? Can TT return from tearing the same ACL twice? Does Grant have anything left in the tank? Like I said, I think Prince will be a good one. Webster is solid but getting older.

With Osi gone do they move Kiwi back to DE and draft a LB?

I think the core of this team is very good and very young. I think they can get better but we have to see who they lose and who they get.

No matter what happens to Manningham after this season...

Nicks, Manningham and Cruz was the best 3 WR combo we have ever seen in a long time with Plax-Toomer-Smith in a distant second.

Should the team go after a great KR/PR or grow Jernigan into one?

Precisely!!! I lost track of how many of my fellow Packers fans I had to slap in the face with carp of reality. I just got in here and stayed away yesterday after the game....but, I'd venture a guess that there are least 20 references to the word "dynasty" here today. :o) ...hey, you're entitled to be giddy...

Jerry Reese has a plan. He knew he wasn't bringing back Steve Smith, so he drafted J. Jerrigan. Jerrigan will be a great slot WR next season to go with Hakeem and Victor. He knew his chances of resigning T.Thomas was slim before the injury so he drafted Prince. You don't draft a CB in the first round to make him a nickel or dime back.

Marvin Austin will start next to the beast L. Joseph while Canty is cut to shore up money for guys like Cruz, JPP and other FA's. Brewer will take Mckenzie's spot while Diehl will be replaced by #62, his name escapes me right now.

The Giants FA targets will be Carl Nicks and Jermicheal Finley. Others will come as Jerry Reese sees fit.

I love how people say THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN, as if they foresaw Reese not re-signing boss and smith.

Reese has a plan - and in that i trust. My opinion.

They will try to get Jacobs back on the cheap.

MM will get offered number 2 money and may have to go - although i think the giants are aware of how good all three guys are together.

Osi is under contract and reese will want him to stay and play in his final year.

mckenzie is on the decline - i think he goes diehl stays and we see beatty step in and maybe brewer gets a looksie but may not be ready.

I would love to see t2 back and may be able to get him on the cheap with injury - sam with goff.

I absolutely trust reeese though and know what i just wrote probably wont be what happens - just opinion.
