Technically it still would have been 4th and 5 so, we still wouldn't of known for sure if we lose that game lol

Yeah thats the thing... nobody remembers that there was a 4th down (and we had already converted a 4th down by that point on the drive). If THAT didn't get converted, then everything is up in the air.

Yeah there's a chance Coughlin might have been gone, but nobody would really criticize the Giants for losing to a freaking 19-0 team. We were playing with house money at that point; the fact that we won was only the cherry on top of an epic run.

That said, the bit about Plax not shooting himself would probably not happen, although I would see Plax sticking on with the giants at least for the time being. 2008 season wouldn't tank at the end with a healthy plax, and then instead of being one-and-done vs the iggles, the giants advance to a title game vs the Cards, and Eli once and for all vindicated himself against Kurt Warner (as an aside, I'm sure to this day he is still pissed he lost his starting job to Eli, if that "never gonna be a hofer" line he's hardlining is any indication). The bit about Brady not being injured on the first game of the season would also happen, and it's a rematch SB from the previous year.

All that said, however, I honestly don't think the Maras are that fickle. Unless he produces a couple of losing seasons, Coughlin is going to be in the drivers seat until he decides to retire. And I for one like it that way. I never had a problem with Coughlin (Fewell on the other hand...)
