Thank you for the link. I watched it again, and still got chills after all these years. What a talent.
I suppose I'll assume drugs had something to do with it, but I hope not. Rest in Peace. Your spark has been extinguished but your flame lives on in your music.

Can't say I'm shocked, but definitely sad news for sure. She had an amazing voice and was a very talented artist. Could be bs, but I'm hearing Ray J found her dead at her house and others are saying it was possibly a suicide? Whatever the case, she'll be missed. RIP Whitney Houston

I agree 100% without a doubt the best Anthem I have ever heard. 1 of a very few that actually stuck with me through the years.
Fyi- that rendition was so publicly demanded it was eventually turned into a release. It was the only time ever the Star Spangled Banner was a top 20 hit.

RIP Whitney Houston
She sang one of the best versions of the star spangled banner. Such a talented singer and a big loss to the music industry.

People attribute the Giants' win that game to her because she faced the Giants' sideline when singing and was known to be a Giants fan. RIP.

Super Bowl XXV is my earliest football memory - I can still remember exactly where everyone was sitting in my dad's den when Norwood missed that kick. Best anthem ever.
RIP Whitney.

That was the only SB I've been at, and in my 65 years it was the single greatest moment of national pride that I've ever felt.

For those who were too young to see it, or perhaps those who wish to remember the moment....
Whitney Houston Sings the National Anthem at Superbowl XXV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jeUINzHK9o)
I have never heard it sung better. As good a game as it was, the day after the game people spoke as much about her singing as the game itself.

Hey guys this is not an obituary column. Let's keep it about the Giants and not about condolenses because of somebody's passing. There are other columns to post your thoughts. Keep it about football.

I remember Jordan Spikes got it going on in the SB 42 anthem but will never top Whitney
I bring that anthem up at least once a year since, legend

dunno why you're being like that
Whitney Houston is a major part of many Giants fans memories in SBXXV
this is one case where a celeb passing does have a major tie to the NY Giants

I'm sure there will tons of accusations and hand wringing over this but I'm pretty sure BB didn't force her to do anything she didn't choose to do.
She is responsible for her sad and untimely demise, not anyone else.
