GIANTS' BRANDON BING LOOKS FORWARD TO CONTRIBUTING IN 2012 (http://www.giants101.com/2012/02/20/new-york-giants-brandon-bing-looks-forward-to-contributing-in-2012/)

"He participated in every practice, he was on time (early) for every meeting
and he showed up every Sunday itching to play. Unfortunately for former Rutgers
cornerback <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with Brandon Bing" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/brandon-bing/" rel="tag nofollow">Brandon
Bing</a>, that opportunity never presented itself as he remained on the <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with New York Giants" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/new-york-giants/" rel="tag nofollow">New York
Giants</a> practice squad.

"I did everything but play in the game," said Bing (http://www.montgomerynews.com/articles/2012/02/16/sports/doc4f3d4f6d6547d860539172.txt?viewmode=default). "If it was practices or meetings or any type of
team activity, I was there. I was on my way to become active in games a few
times, but a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes prevented that from
happening."</p></blockquote>

Whatever it was that kept Bing off the field did not keep him from signing a contract on February 8th (http://www.giants101.com/2012/02/08/new-york-giants-sign-nine-players-to-reservefutures-contracts/), which will bring him back
to the Big Apple in 2012.</p>
<blockquote>

"I signed a contract as soon as we got back from the Super Bowl, so Iím
looking forward to next year," Bing said. "I celebrated after we won the Super
Bowl, I celebrated when we got back, went to the parade and celebrated with my
family when I got home. And then I signed a contract, so this is definitely a
feeling of accomplishment that I canít even explain."</p></blockquote>

During his senior season at Rutgers (2010), Bing compiled 65 tackles, one
interception and was named Big East Special Teams Player of the Week (1x).
During a pre-draft workout, he was also timed running a 4.28 40-yard dash. That
jumped a bit at Rutgers' Pro Day when he ran a 4.41 40-yard dash.</p>

Whether or not Bing contributes on the field in 2012 remains to be seen, but
it's clear he's happy to be with the <a class="st_tag internal_tag" title="Posts tagged with New York Giants" href="http://www.giants101.com/tag/new-york-giants/" rel="tag nofollow">New York
Giants</a>. And a team full of players content in their roles is, as we've
already seen, a team that can go "all in" and walk away with the Lombardi
Trophy."</p>

It never hurts to take a look. He might be a diamond in the rough.

I liked this guy at RU.

He is the kind of guy that Reese found and could help the team next year. Hope he has a fine pre season and a chance to dress next season.

I dunno. With all the injuries we had at CB how could he not get on the field is he was any good? I don't think we're gonna see too much of Mr. Bing.

Maybe they knew he needed more time before he can play in an NFL game?

Who knows, can't really predict anything off of an assumption.

He likely never was brought up to the active roster because he needed at least a full offseason to gain weight.

Not going to be getting much playing time at CB on the giants when you are 175 pounds.

I think that the great accomplishments realized by Victor Cruz this past season have really helped to inspire the whole organization into believing in the entire depth of both, roster and scouts. I have to say that I knew nothing about Bing, but looking him up in google has given me a bit of perspective, and it would not be out of the question if we see him more involved next year. I am not saying that he will be the next Cruz, but if he can do half as well, then it will be a great thing in itself.
