I was reading the season grades

and it mentioned Ben Patrick as the worst acquisition. Can anyone let me know what exactly happened in that situation? I've forgotten.

Boss ditched the Giants to go to the Raiders way after the draft and Reese (who was expecting Boss to return to NY from Oakland to get an offer from the Giants, which never happened) tried to get a proven veteran TE for replacement. I think there weren't any outstanding FA TE's available at that time. The playing hand was forced. Thank goodness for Jake Ballard from the unknown!
