Jacobs can't catch a ball at ALL and he was not only franchised but then signed to a long term deal...

I would not say his WR game is effective at all
That's an overstatement, he can catch the ball, but he certainly needs a lot of work there, that said he has multiple receiving TD's in his career, its not like he never catches the ball but he does have bad hands, and its something that keeps him from being the best back in the NFL imho.

he's if not the best, one of the best Blocking RB's in the NFL, and again, he's top 5 rushing the ball, but he's no where near the top 30 or 40 when receiving out of the backfield.

thats why LdT and Westbrook are/were better in there primes then he is now, they were top 5 blockers receivers AND rushers.

Jacobs misses many plays because of his inability to reliably catch a pass out of the backfield, luckily he's both a monster running the ball AND blocking for Eli.

A RB that can "ONLY" Run with the ball, would never see much if any play time in the NFL, regardless of how good he is at it.
saying he could catch the ball is an overstatement

40 receptions in 4 years? with about 15-20 drops lol... come on now...

he is below par for his position at catching the ball.

Yes I would agree with you he is a best blocker but if he can't run the ball and has the same attributes he isn't a RB. Hell even if he is a great pass catcher, he won't be a RB if he can't run the ball..

Are we really getting this started? lol

Didn't say only run the ball, i said running ball is the primary focus of a RB because if u can't do that, it don't matter how well u block or pass catch, you won't be a RB. Name me one RB that is a subpar rusher but can do the other things well and is playing in the NFL

Agreed he is below par at one of the 3 things important to his position luckily for him he is top notch meaning top 5 in the NFL overall, in the othe 2 things so its possible to over-look the thing he is poor in, although it still drags him down when objectivly addressing his overall worth, he is not a top 5 RB in the FL...purely because he has bad hands...fix that, and hell, he might be #1.
RB because if u can't do that, it don't matter how well u block or pass catch, you won't be a RB. Name me one RB that is a subpar rusher but can do the other things well and is playing in the NFL
Reggie Bush but he's getting pushed out because of his Blocking actually, but he's proven to be a sub par rusher, a good receiver out of the backfield, and unfortunately for him, a sub par blocker, make him a good blocker and he still has a job for years to come as the starting back.

Cedric Benson, yeah not on the Bears but I believe he still plays for Cincy no?

Jo Addai, sub par runner great out of the backfield great blocker.

even like Jamal Lewis, he can not run like he used to, anyone under a 3.8 or so YPC number imho is a sub par rusher...and yet many of them still have jobs, because they do the other things required of them well.

regardless, we can go back and forth on this all day, point is, I've completely and utterly convinced you that you were wrong once, you've never done so to me.

        so...1-0 :P

also, we are going to ruin the ruined thread if we keep talking football, and BB85 will run away, and nobody wants that, truce till Sat, then I'll have you drink with me till you see my point of view is correct.

            Awful awful awful examples.

Addai is a very good runner had 1000 in his rookie year.

Jamal lewis is an awful receiver, which kills your point.

Cedric Benson is on his way out of the league and you try to make a point of him being on one of the worst teams on the league? ok...

If Reggie Bush's skills stay as is he'll have a job in the league for years to come regardless if he becomes a better blocker or not.

Because of the boat incident, nothing to do with his on the field ability.

Reggie Bush has proven to be a poor rusher in the NFL, but retains the ability to be a threat out of the backfield, and I suppose a suitable blocker, the fact that he can do ALL things required to him allows him to continue playing in the NFL even though he is subpar at rushing the ball.

Addai, is not good rushing the football, I seriously disagree with your observations otherwise, anyone can have a 1k rushing year or two on a team with Peyton Manning because noone is playing against the run, when he's running against a normal defense he is stopped nearly every time, and shows almost no ability to make people miss or run over people.

Really, I'm not, I could get 5 yards on a shotgun draw playing for indy... course I'd probably get killed and not be able to do so again for a few months at least, after recovering from injuries so here's to Addai's durability...oh wait.

point is in the open field he rarely makes one guy miss, he rarely gets extra yards after first contact, he is a POOR rusher, yet he retains his job due to his ability to receive out of the back field and block for Peyton, two things he does MUCH better then running with the ball.

If anyone can run for a 1000 yards because of Peyton then why isn't the same true for Brees and Brady?

It's ok if you don't watch much Colts football, but Addai is a good runner.

Same reason Addai couldn't this year either, multiple backs and injuries, they are using multiple backs now, one who can run one who can block and receive and is subpar at rushing, guess which roll Addai fills.

but you want another example? Kevin Faulk...that one you might feel a little better about.

Kevin Faulk is a 3rd down back and barely plays, whats your point.

and an edit note- he has never gotten significant play time other than because of injuries because of his inability to run the ball well.

he plays at least 1/3 of all the snaps NE takes.

I'm simply answering a question, I was asked to produce RB's that are still playing in the NFL that are sub par rushers there are plenty of RB's in the NFL that ares ub par rushers that still have a job because of their ability to pass receive and block.

I don't need a point, I was asked a question by MMB, he was trying to prove a point, and has failed because I answered the question he thought had no answer.
