With this latest autopsy report on former players, and the percentage of brain trauma injury, I suppose we should expect abnormal behavior in various forms. I wonder about a rash of early retirements in the near future, though.

My wife asked about going to the movies soon - this one looks good. Probably similar to Saving Pvt Ryan?

          • Star Wars 8 better be the shiznit.
"Sir, I was wondering: did you happen to catch the professional football contest on television last night?"
            "No...I didn't."
"Oh it was most exhilarating: the Giants of NY took on the Packers of Green Bay and in the end the Giants triumphed by kicking an oblong ball made of pigskin through a big H. It was a most ripping victory."

7 was meh. Thought Rogue One was better but enough with the Death Stars already.

                  Nah, he's just contrary.

The guy would argue with an empty room.

He'd be like "You're not empty....you're vacant! Not that you would know the difference, you weren't there..."

                      Rogue One was excellent.
I agree about 7 though. I barely cared about anything going on in that movie....

                        And win.

I think you're right, JR... Guys will hang in there until they can get 5-10 mil under their belts, and then retire. Average age on teams is going to go down. It definitely is a young man's game, with limited duration. Some positions might not be as vulnerable to head trauma, on average, and have a higher lifespan. How many concussions do you think Eli has had in his tenure? QB could last a lot longer in the league, in general. They might even mandate compulsory retirement after X number of concussions.

I think the NFL should start paying for ex players healthcare when it comes to football related injuries.

The league certainly makes enough money to offer it. I think that there's definitely a degree of responsibility there, when they ask these guys to put their bodies on the line for the sake of entertainment.

I'm a firm believer that it's the players decision to put his body on the line and his alone, but the league needs to step up and take care of these guys after their careers are over. When they're playing in the league they have access to some of the best doctors in the world. It should be the same way as they retire and get older, because thats when they really need it.
