The people I know who tend to be more religious are usually more selfless, kind, giving and thoughtful. Generally they will do anything for you and ask nothing in return.

They tend to be strong, honest and principled. they tend to be the kind of people you can lean on when you have troubles.

They tend to have much stronger relationships and tend to raise kids who are respectful as well.

    Yeah.....they're all *******s.
So, youre religious??
You guys all watch way too much TV. 99% of "religious people" are not religious "nuts".

They are just good people who have faith.
no you just apparently have no experience with anything outside of your area of life. I can tell by some of the things you say about your politics as well. Your argument about health insuranc ewas "Everybody I know likes their insurance" and then you totally discounted Lando's health insurance issue and the **** thats going out by him just because by you its not a problem
You have no idea what you;re talking about. I grew up a Democrat. I voted for Jimmy Carter in 1980, Walter Mondale in 84, Mike Dukkakis in 88, and Bill Clinton in 92 and 96. I lived a life and was open to learning new things and having new experiences. What I learned is that the Federal Government can't cure all the ills of society. Only we (the American people) can. This comes from getting the **** kicked out of me for years and years.

My evolution comes from a million factors including freindships and other relationships from people of many different life styles. So I'm a small government conservative. because I believe WE need to take control of our lives and not defer power to a centralized government.

My views on healthcare are that competition brings out the best in people and other oganizations. A good example is the car insurance issue in Mass. For years auto insurance was regulated by the state. the rates were set by the state of Mass. In Conn., where they were not regulated, they were half of what they were in Mass. When we had deregulation finally in Mass. , insurance companies competed and rates literally dropped in half here as well. I've lived in both states.

It has nothing to do with caring about people. it has to do with what works best and how that benefits people. If insurance companies could compete on an even playing field in Utah, Lando's insurance availabilty and quality would improve tremendously. Unfortunately, the government has rigged the game and prevented that.
my point didn't come out clear i guess...

and how did the government rig that game? It appears to me that companies don't want the burden of taking on too much money in THAT STATE and they push the cost of it onto the employee

Matt, I have been told that I need to accept God into my life more. I was raised Catholic and went to church every Sunday and holidays.

I even went to those CCD classes a couple days after school during the week.

But I feel everybody has their faith and that is good. But I have also noticed that some of the "supposed" holy rollers are the biggest hippocrits out there.
having faith in god is fine.

I am 12 years catholic schooled too between CCD, middle school, and high school.

But these religion gets used as a crutch. People think they are holier than thou because of their religion and they look down upon others because of it (kind of goes against every thing i was taught in 12 years). People use it as a crutch to do what they want and come back with "God is forgiving".

If people can find the good out of religion, i take no issue with it. Buts its more common to find people using it as a shield. Religions that are suppose to be accepting of everybody, typically aren't at all. I just can't stomach it.
I hear you, but thats the small majority. Every bunch has is bad apples. And its certainly not just Christianity. At least Christians arent blowing themselves up to kill other Christians. Look at the middle east. Jihadists kill everyone that dont except their way of Islam. Its insane.

the extremists are a small majority but you don't need to be an extremist to fall under the catagory of people that use Religion as a sheild.

**** man, my old drug dealer/friend was religious as can be. A friend that sold me pot but was a real drug dealer for other **** was as religious as you could BE. Dude went on retreats with his family like once a month just ridiculous **** but was a bad mother****er. Aka, doing time for stabbing somebody now.

Im sorry but I see more negative effects of religion than positive. And it also speaks to the fac tthat some people need to be god fearing to do the right things. I don't fear god, I still try to be as good to people as possible. I can be a **** and a ball brearker but at the end of the day i try to do good by people.

I've come to the conclusion that if there is a god and he doesn't accept me because I didn't buy into this religion **** and he holds it against me - then I don't want to follow a god like that anyway.

I agree with pappy on this MMB, I know a lot of religious people (all be it most Jewish) and you would have NO idea they were even Jewish, they don't push the agenda, they don't use it as a crutch, they don't think they are better people then those who are less religious...those thoughts I would imagine don't even enter their mind, they do what they do because they want to..not for some type of benefit....and if it wasn't for them eating kosher you'd probably never even know they were religious at all.

                              its a culmination of things.

Whether its pushing their religion on people, playing the i'm superior card, or use it as a crutch to act in a negative way (for instance the topic of homosexuality).

As a straight dude (jokes later) that grew up in ball breaking jersey and who CONSTANTLY uses the term *** and homo (in a non sexual way), it annoys the **** out of me when I come across people against gay marriage. People manipulate what religion is suppose to mean too much.
Yea and if you said those things in front of homosexuals theyd press charges. Theyre just as bad as the religous freaks.

see THATS the **** though. Stuff like that...

like did he really need Psalms chapter and versus on his eye black in college?

does every question he answer have to be prefaced with a 5 minute praise to god?

I find it annoying. But I still hope he does good because as a football player I am not convinced that a spread option can't work in the NFL.Everything comes full circle. But now that hes a Jet, I hope he blows even bigger ****
