  • Patching one of the biggest holes on this team

Giants haven't been able to cover a TE for years, and this year seems to be the worst yet.

    Week 1: Witten 7 rec 59yds 1TD
Week 2: Eric freaking Ebron: 5 rec, 42 yds, 1TD. Pretty bad considering DET hardly threw the ball.
    Week 3: Ertz 8 rec, 55 yds 1 TD
    Week 4: Brate 4 rec, 80yds 1 TD; OJ Howard 2 rec, 63 yds, 1 TD
    Week 5: Gates/Henry 5 rec, 65 yds, 1 TD

If you average this all together over a 16 game schedule: 99 Rec 1165yds 22 TDs, which is unacceptable. It will only get worse with guys like Jimmy Graham, Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis x2, Travis Kelce, and Witten/Ertz again on the schedule.

If the Giants cut Marshall, Harris, and Jerry, they will have around 42 mil in cap space, and close to 50 if they part ways with DRC.

Instead of re-signing Kennard, the Giants should try to land Telvin Smith, one of the best 4-3 WILLS in the league (Assuming he is available).

It would be the best 8-9mil they have spent. Rookie LB's tend to struggle in coverage but this guy is a seasoned pro who is relatively young. Sign him, re-sign Pugh, and build the OL in the draft.
