We drafted Wayne Gallman instead. Blount would be redundant and we should save the few dollars we have to fill holes on this team. Blount can't create for himself anyways, and there's a strong argument to be made that our line can't create for him.

First off there was never any deal to be dead. He has never even been in for a visit. So all the links were just speculation and rumors.

As far as Gallman being drafted solving the issue. It doesn't. You still need a vet presence for those tough spots. Can't totally rely on basically two rookies. Vereen is mostly a 3rd down back and always hurt so you can't count on him. Darkwa is hit or miss.

Also you can't compare Gallman a 6'1 guy that is 210 to Blount who is same height but a bruiser at 245. No comparison plus u need someone that has been in tight win or go home games late in the season
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

            # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
            2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
            3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
            4-New York Giants!!!
            5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

I think this still happens, Someone in another thread said that there is a period after the draft where If you sign a free agent you have to give up a draft pick, after this period of time there should be a bidding war between the Giants and the Lions, The Giants still have a good amount of money to spend. also does anyone know when this free agent compensatory draft pick period end?

Raanan had an article today saying that midnight tonight ends the period where a signed free agent counts toward the compensatory calculations and speculated you could see some movement on outstanding vets.

He also speculated we could be in line for a 4th round compensatory pick next year -- primarily per Hankins signing.

Yea NE threw a monkey wrench in it by tendering him 3 minutes before the deadline, lol

Blount wouldn't be redundant Gallman is 210 lbs., Blount is 245 and has experience and has produced. Gallman has potential and is going to be our 3rd Back at best this year ? Blouunt has weakness yes but he also has strength. He can make the tough yards to run down clock and hold lead at end of the game. !st and goal from the 4, 3rd and 1 to keep drive going. I think we made a mistake letting him get away and on top of it go to a division foe.

I've been saying that in every Thread. In fact I said the exact same thing as you in Post#6 above.

Maybe they plan on using Ellison on the 3rd & 4th downs needing short yardage and down around goal line. In weighs 250 and is 6'5. Blount is 6"1 and 245. I know Blount obviously is faster and has more burst but he could be an Option at FB we didn't have last year

Also have a couple of FBs in camp in weighing 247 but I doubt they keep either one seeing already losing a skilled position spot by having to keep a 3rd QB. Plus having a log jam at WR with tons of talent and TE. No way they can keep a conventional FB. Best hope if they are good is to try and stash one on the PS

Blount stock should be a lot higher considering what he did last season. The nfl is a what have you done lately league
