  • Steelers restructured Ben Roethlisberger's contract, saving $8 million in cap space.

the Steelers are in a similar position as the giants. They were also well over the cap. Huge move for them. Maybe eli would be willing to do the same. Being that Eli is a team first kind of guy, I wouldnt be surprised if he did something similar.

Eli has the biggest contract. Biggest 2012 salary. His restructing will make the biggest dent on our cap number. Which may possibly save some other salary cap casualties (Canty, Jacobs, etc..).

Eli should have the biggest contract, he should make the most money. Guys like Chris Canty and BJ are the types of guys who will need to take a pay cut, not Eli.

restructuring your contract doesn't always mean your taking a pay cut. theres no chance in hell big ben is making 8mil less on his contact. It's a way to use the signing bonus in your advantage if your a GM.

It's either going to count towards this year or another year, either way it's going to count eventually, go look at the Giants cap numbers/hits for this coming year than come back and tell me with a straight face that Eli is the one that needs to take a pay cut. Yes he is the highest paid, but the team has some pretty average players making 6-9 million next year. The difference can and should be made up in other areas.

Big Ben is that sort of guy. He was making 900k as a rookie when Eli was making 9 mil per.He never complained or held out.

I dont think Ben is in the league much longer anyways, its like a retirement egg pushing his money back

                    I dont agree

ben is a top 10 QB in the nfl with 2 SB rings. Even though he has had a few issues off the field, i dont see them as career threatening. Unless he falls off his bike again.

[/quote] what? I didn't say or imply that. I'm saying Ben could have held out after going to aft champ game. But was patient. And 100mill 10 years is still only 10mil per. Nice chunk but look at salaries now.
