Cowboys $10 mill and Skins $36! They can spread it but they were banking on all that space to build around RG3 in free agency and now this is turning bad for them

    ...Love it!!

I dont get it. I'm no Cowboy fan but was there a rule that said you couldn't front load a contract. It was an uncapped year so it seems like a smart move?

I just dont understand what rule they did wrong.

I hate the Skins and Cowboys but I really don't understand why it's considered cheating - kind of feels like penalizing the fat guy at an all you can eat buffet for eating 6 pounds of crab legs - not honorable but still within the guidelines.

Seems less like cheating and more like intelligent accounting to me, unless theres an aspect of the story I missed.

The NFL announced that there would be severe penalties if teams abused the situations and warned against it repeatedly. The Saints and Raiders(I believe it was the Raiders) were also in violation but not to as great an extent, since they were involved they do not receive any of the money that we do. It freaking rocks

as i understand the situation here in dc, the nfl notified these teams several times after the cba was ratified that those front loadings of contracts in a"no cap" yearwere illegal.

of course it was too late then. the skins front loaded Haynesworth with 21 mil and Deangelo Hall with 15 mil.

they shouldve listened. im happy something negative happened to those morons!

Well what a waste of an analogy - that makes perfect sense as to why it's fantastic that these 2 turds are getting hammered for all that money!

I still appreciated it though! Haha I'm actually gonna steal it should the opportunity present itself.

Its not that simple. They didnt just front load contracts they restructured them with the intent of saving money in future years at the expense of 2010. Some bonuses were paid in 2010 as salary just to avoid having to stretch out the cap hits over the course of the contract, like they normally would. I do not think they did it maliciously per say. But, it also isnt fair to the rest of the league.

If i was Robert Griffin III i would pull an Eli and say " i will not play for this team if they draft me."

its funny listening to the deflated skins fans they were all like oh now we get RG3 and got 40 mill in cap room lmao they are a real sore bunch right now.

thanks for the extra money morons; 1.6 mil your too generous

I agree but it sure is funny

I saw Redskins fans saying that the NFL is racist against black QBs and they want to screw RG3 and that's why they did this.

Can you imagine the hilarity if the skins lost the Rams 1st rounder that they just traded for, that would be one of the funniest things ever
