TITAN'S OWNER OFFERED PEYTON MANNING "CONTRACT FOR LIFE"

    Excerpt: "The Titans
appear to be going all-in on Peyton Manning. Eighty-nine-year-old owner Bud
Adams said previously that he will do whatever it takes to sign Manning in his
chase for a championship and he sees the quarterback as the missing piece. Never
mind that Tennessee drafted Jake Locker with the No. 8 pick last April.

For Adams, landing Manning transcends money. NFL Network's Michael Lombardi wrote
Wednesday that, in addition to handing the quarterback a blank check,
there's also the "promise Manning could be part of the Tennessee Titans'
organization after his playing days are through." We have no idea if a
front-office gig is something Manning is looking for when he retires but
Lombardi points out that it's a perk the Broncos, who are also heavily
recruiting Manning, can't offer (John Elway currently occupies that corner
    office).

    But it gets better: according
to KOU11 in Houston, Adams has offered Manning a "contract for life." And
the owner isn't worried about Manning's neck, which required multiple surgeries
and kept him out for the 2011 season.

"I'm only concerned how strong it
is in September, when he starts the regular season," said Adams during a phone
interview with KOU11. And there's even good news for Locker: the owner really
likes the former first-rounder and thinks he'll have a great future, it's just
that you can't pass up the opportunity to land a player like Manning.

Fair enough, but here's the thing: if Manning plays three more years,
when he finally retires in 2014, Locker will be a free agent. As we mentioned
Wednesday, that's not exactly the best use of an eighth-overall pick.

And because you can't get enough, talked about the latest on Manning --
as well as a Day 2 recap of free agency -- on the Pick-6 Podcast:" Read more...

He's mentioned in the article. He could become trade bait, I suppose.

Or he can learn from one of the best that ever played the game and assume the starting role in three years much better for the experience. Locker wasn't exactly a sure fire bet and he has some accuracy issues, good amount of time to work that all out.

I really think that he should go to Denver, as they have a way more complete team for him, and we would finally have some peace from all the Tebow talk... but I really want him to sign... because I just want him out of the spotlight, and allow the NFL network to continue covering the rest of the league.

Contract for whose life? The 89 year old owner? Or Peyton?

Poor senile 89 yr old Bud! He is desperate to win a Superbowl before he leaves our Earth.

Can you imagine if Manning signs with the Titans, I can see him dancing in his suite at LP Field, flipping the twinbirds to all the other teams that were courting Peyton! LOL!!!

Living in Tennessee, all the local news/sports start out their telecasts with the Peyton watch. Personally Ithought he would choose Miami or Arizona. But the way it sounds, its between Denver and Tennessee. I can only get my advil or aleve ready if he does sign with Tennessee. I will never hear the end of it.

I wish him well of course, he is a class act. I do feel for Locker some. I know he wasn't the top QB coming out of college. I thought he would be ready this year or next to be the full-time starter at QB. Hell the Titans drafted him at 7---if he is not in their future plans, I would say that was a wasted 1st rd pick.

On a sidenote, my wife met Jake Locker and got her picture taken with him. The CEO of her company, Gaylord Entertainment, invited Locker to their Christmas party this passed December. My wife said that he was a very friendly, down to earthand humbled person. Plus of course, the women think he is cute---LOL!!

89 years old...what does he care? Might as well offer a $500 million dollar contract if you only have to pay $30 million of it...
