    SHOULD JETS TRADE FOR TEBOW?

    "The Jets helped start Tebowmania, <a href="http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2011/11/jets_coach_rex_ryan_s_eric_smi.html">allowing
    him to score </a>a game-winning touchdown in November. Now, with the show about
    to close in Denver, is he headed to Broadway? (If this were a play, Jets fans,
    would it be a comedy … a tragedy?)

    It would be good drama, no doubt, and would sell a few tickets. It’s also
    probably a long shot, with two Florida teams (the Jaguars and the Dolphins) as
    possible suitors and <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/tim-tebow-friend-says-wants-head-back-florida-184304892.html">as
    preferred destinations for Tebow</a>. And would you agree that John Elway <a href="http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/21/four-teams-in-the-mix-for-tebow/">owes
    it to Tebow</a> to give him some say in his next stop?</p>

    <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/21/sports/football/jets-interested-in-tebow.html?ref=sports">Ben
    Shpigel of The Times on the Jets:</a></p>
    <blockquote>

    Their interest in Tebow is sincere and legitimate, according to a former
    league executive with knowledge of their intentions, and it provides a
    fascinating glimpse into the thinking of an organization that endured as many
    problems last season on offense as it did in the locker room.</p>

    Tebow appeals to the Jets because of his familiarity with the Wildcat, the
    formation popularized in Miami by their new offensive coordinator, Tony Sparano,
    and adored by Coach Rex Ryan. Sparano favors a run-oriented offense, and Tebow
    could emerge as a complementary piece, creating more opportunities for Sanchez
    to maximize one of his strengths, the play-action.</p></blockquote>

    Florio, ProFootballTalk.com:
    </a></p>
    <blockquote>

    The Jets, we’re told, are on the same page from front office to their
    coaching staff regarding their interest in Tebow, who would assume the Brad
    Smith role in the team’s offense. Depending on the manner in which starter Mark
    Sanchez plays, Tebow could be in line for even more.</p></blockquote>

    <a href="http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/11179/will-jets-consider-tebow-its-a-long-shot">Rich
    Cimini, ESPN:</a></p>
    <blockquote>

    There’s always the box-office factor with Tebow, who would generate a
    tremendous buzz for a team competing in the same market as the defending Super
    Bowl champions. On the downside, his presence could be distraction to the team
    and Sanchez.</p></blockquote>

    Myers, The Daily News:</a></p>
    <blockquote>

    This is an easy one for the Jets: Just Say No To Timsanity.</p></blockquote>

    Extra point Ryan is a big fan of the Wildcat, and that’s
    probably one of the reasons he hired Sparano as offensive coordinator. The two
    might enjoy taking on Tebow as a project. Last season, Ryan<a href="http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/jets/post/_/id/9358/sorry-schotty-rex-takes-credit-for-td-call">
    took special pleasure </a>in calling a Wildcat play that resulted in a Shonn
    Greene touchdown against Washington; Ryan turned to the offensive coordinator
    Brian Schottenheimer with a gleeful I-told-you-so. But back to the distraction
    part. The Tebow show could be a draining experience for Sanchez and other Jets.
    Would it be worth it? Antonio Cromartie has already weighed in:</p>
