That would really make me upset if Jacobs' career was over. Dude is 30 years old. Would be totally unfortunate for the guy.

To me, the most interesting nugget from that article was that Osi turned down a 3 year $18M deal to stay with the Giants, and took less than that to play with the Falcons.

Sorry to see BJ's career end though. A true Giant.

        If true, that is interesting.

+1. Yeah, that was a shocker. I'm even more shocked that the Giants offered him $18M over 3 years than him turning it down to play for Atlanta for less money.

I would definitely take BJ, and preferribly AB, at the vet minimum as our # 3 RB.

if this is true about Plax its a shame he continually puts himself in these positions! this guy appears to never had any decent direction in his life. amazing!

maybe the Jints could sign BJ for 1 more year to determine his effectiveness. i think he prolly has something left to contribute! his knees may not cooperate tho!

it comes down to him wanting to Start form what the link said. I highly doubt he Starts with them. But did I read it right that he is only getting a total of 8.5 for the two years or 8.5 per year? It thats the case he gave up almost 2 million a season and forfeited the whole 6 Million for the 3rd season that wasnt offered by falcons.
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

              # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
              2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
              3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
              4-New York Giants!!!
              5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

Looks like plax still has money issues. Not surprising. What is surprising is that no body thinks Jacobs is worth a shot? You'd think some team could use him in some capacity

Osi sees himself as an every down starter. Will he get that in Atlanta?

Both Bradshaw and Jacobs may be on short lists when RB injuries take their toll during the season.

Not sure about that, but it seems lke a lot of money to give up just to get the label of "starter".

I think that the fact that the Giants were willing to pay him $18M (if that's true), speaks a lot about how the FO views their pass rush needs. I think that it is very likely that we draft a DE in one of the first two rounds.

Agree 100%. Said this about BJ in the thread where everybody was saying he's done.

Yeah, very surprised the Giants even made that kind of offer to him, even more surprised he turned it down to take less money in ATL after all the stink he made about being underpaid.

If the giants offer is true, which I'm not sure it is, then Osi leaving is much more personal than anyone has let on. He's clearly disenfranchised with the organization if that's the case because normally a player never leaves his home organization to take less money from another team unless there's some much deeper issues there.

And by deeper issues, I mean more than just wanting to be a starter.
