McClain was good coming out of college and his attitude problems started after that so I wouldn't rule out the Raider influence being part of his problems. remember the Raiders is where football player go to destroy their careers...

This would be a dream come true for me. LOVED him at Alabama. That dude owned the field.

I give him a pass for his NFL performance because it was in Oakland.

Brandon Myers flourished..Mc Fadden was doing well, b4 injuries, and Palmer looks like he may have a new home over in Oakland. It's not the organziation they influence, but it;s more on the player, to make right choices.

          Is that possible?

Under Coughlin, working alongside vets such as Jenkins, Rogers & Tuck everyday, reckon he could be an absolute steak for us - if we get him!

didn't this dude just get arrested not to long ago in Alabama or Georgia for pointing a loaded gun at someones head? this kid might be dumber than Pacman Jones. Add the fact that he's sucked on the football field..I'll pass

I wanted this guy back in the draft. It would be awesome if they would just check him out.

id take a chance on him. Everyone deserves a second chance.

                      BUT..not for these numbers

YEAR BASE S. BONUS MISC. CAP HIT DEAD
                      2010 1,260,000 - 1,000,000 2,260,000 -
                      2011 450,000 - 6,125,000 6,575,000 -
                      2012 970,000 - 2,670,000 3,640,000 -
                      2013 4,005,000 - 2,670,000 6,675,000 10,895,000
                      2014 5,805,000 - 2,670,000 8,475,000 -
                      2015 2,665,000 - 2,420,000 5,085,000

I highly doubt any teams puts a waiver on him for 4 mil.

Whether he has played poorly or not, the talent is clearly there if he was the 8th overall pick in the draft and Jerry Reese had interest in him. I think people are also forgetting he was playing on the Raiders, where everybody underachieves and gets into trouble. I personally think if he can come cheap he would be well worth the risk

Ravens will find a way to sign him. Take that to the bank!

                            +1!

if the Giants drafted him initially would he have been a better player?

if we traded a 5th for keith rivers, dont see how we would rule out looking at mcclain esp when posters here claimed he was JRs real BPA that draft we got JPP

Yes, because the front office always does what the posters on this board suggest that they do. The only reason we would look at McClain is because our LB corps is weak, and he wont get anything close to the 4mil he was due this year.
