Im thinking its going to be Pena, Paul, Naehering or Pedrique from everything I have heard. Unbelievable that the last 3 are basically going to be rookie managers on the Yankees. But, it sounds like Cashman wants to find his own manager and mold him. Pena would probably fit the old model for the Yankees, not this new Cashman model.

This could be a great thing, or could be another Ben McAdoo type situation. Lets hope not.

On the day Joe Girardi was dismissed by the Yankees, some of his players offered praise, like David Robertson and even Gary Sanchez, who had been benched during the season by the manager.

But Mark Teixeira, who played for Girardi from 2009 to 2016, criticized his former manager for being too tense and not connecting enough with his players.

“We all know why Joe Girardi is not coming back,” Teixeira told The Post on Thursday at Minute Maid Park. “We all know it’s because of the communication and the intensity was a little bit too much. [General manager Brian Cashman] did an amazing job rebuilding this roster. He just wanted a different voice.’’

When considering the MVP, which is obviously between Altuve and Judge, we must also consider defense right?

Altuve not considered top 3 for 2nd basemen so is ineligible:

Second BaseAaron Judge is considered top RF gold glove candidate:

        Right Field
This leans Judges way as well. Really the only things that dont are BA, steals and strike outs. HRs, RBIs, OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+, Defense, Walks, all lean Judges way.

Naehring said that he doesn't want to be a manager.
He wants to be a gm.

Derek Jeter has been the Miami Marlins owner for a few weeks now, and the thing he has proved most skilled at so far is filling his front office by hiring away New York Yankees executives.

Jeter's mini-raid continued on Friday, as the Marlins nabbed Dan Greenlee as their new director of player personnel. Here's Tim Healy of the South Florida Sun-Sentinelwith more information:
With the Yankees, Greenlee was a Tampa-based player development analyst, working under Gary Denbo — now the Marlins' vice president of player development and scouting, then the Yankees' VP of player development. Yankees legend/Marlins CEO Derek Jeter has a long history with Denbo, and Denbo and Greenlee worked closely while with New York.
Healy also noted Greenlee has an unusual background, having studied journalism and law, and having worked as a merger analyst for a media organization. It's the "worked for the Yankees" part, however, that makes him a usual suspect in the new-look Marlins front office.

So much for my lottery guess..

                Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal
One name I’m hearing in connection with #Yankees’ job: Jerry Hairston Jr. In similar mold to Hinch, Roberts, Cora; won WS in 2009 with NYY.

You would like to think that Cash and company has a name already contacted about the position before they fired Girardi since it seems like it was determined a long time ago.

Looks like another world series classic. Dodgers just took the lead 2-1 in the top of the 9th. Giles has been failing in the postseason.

Only Cashman knows. Jerry Hairston Jr is getting love right now.

Keuchel got knocked around a bit in the 1st inning of a pivotal game 5.

                          3-0 Dodgers early.

If the Astros lose this, Im calling it the curse of Yuli for making that racist gesture. He also just got an error on a throw that cost them a run.

Kershaw is absolutely brilliant this postseason. Glad to see one of the best pitchers I have EVER seen put it together in the postseason .

                            Oh my....

With a 4-1 lead in the 4th, Kershaw just gave a up 3 run bomb to.... Yuli.

                            Cant make this stuff up.

                            4-4

Looks like the aces were off today.

In for another great game I probably wont be able to stay up for....

Really bad pitch. That was a nice meatball right down the middle. No surprise he hit it into orbit.

                                Oh my god!

                                What a game!

                                7-7

Belliger broke the 4-4 tie with a 3 run jack and now Altuve blasts a 3 run job to the it!
