Yeah now those are the kinds that I respect.....and probably would save my life if they needed
to on the battle field...

I saw this one report of this former miss tenessee or whatever she was joining the army.
They made a big deal about how patriotic she was etc...to me, yes I thought it was a good
gesture on her part but give me a break, she was petite, skinny and no way able to do anything
to meet the rigorous demands of the army. I'm sure she passed whatever test they gave her
but not with flying colors...

Of course at the end they showed pictures of her wearing a nice army sweatshirt and sweatpants...
That kinda wraps up everything they really felt about her...and she did what she did best, posed
and smiled for the cameras..

I know for a sure fact if she ever had to deal with al queda hand to hand combat, the outcome
wouldn't be so good...

I'm watching the NFL combine. I'm sorry I don't think that 25 reps with 225 is all that impressive when you weigh 325! Am I wrong?

more on Ayn Rand's writings:</p>

Rand decried the initiation of force and fraud, and believed that government had a responsibility to protect its citizens both from criminal behavior and foreign hostility (economic and military). Some have described her politics as minarchism and libertarianism, though she never used the first term and disavowed any connection to the second.[2]</p>

Rand, a self-described hero-worshiper, stated in the Romantic Manifesto that the goal of her writing was "the projection of an ideal man." In reference to Objectivism, she said the following: "My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute." - Ayn Rand, Appendix to Atlas Shrugged</p>

</p>

She basically shows how a liberal thought process destroys the country (can't remember what book)</p>
Wow now that is awesome....yes I will look her up over the weekend, maybe even tonite. It's that kind of thinking that I take a liking too...it's logical...well...atleast from what I read above...

haha I'm sure she is just totally hypnotized right now...

I try not to bring politics or my views of the world onto any MB because I know everyone
Yeah, but you also have to remember that not all billets are combat billets, there is admin, supply etc. My fiancee is 5'1.5" and sure as heck couldn't carry me out of a fire, but she sure as hell knows her job, and can lead people. The only service where every member (at least officers) are trained to be frontline grunts is the marine corps. So she can just be an admin type. I'm still convinced that the air force recruits females for their looks however.

Nope it's not, I weighed 130 when I played football and I did 20 reps of 145...
Now I know that isn't a lot but if I were a bigger guy, I'd hope that I'd be doing
a lot more than 225....

The only good thing about being 130 was that it was very easy for the muscles to show...

I've also met in my career some very capable petite female pilots who were awesome. But then throw in the mix the kind that are as smart as a box of hammers, but in light of tailhook, would just drop the hint of Sexual Harrasment, and they were passed through flight school.
AG, I thought you were bigger than that. I was 130 I think in my freshman year of HS. I was 205 Senior year, and 235 in college.

So true and I completely forgot about that. So when they do reports like that, it would be good to say, she is joining the army to do "this" type of job...don't make it sound like she is going to be in the frontline...

When my friend got jipped from West Point, we visited the coast guard academy in Connnecticut.
One of the PRE-REQUISITES was your face!!! LOL...can you beleive that? You needed to have
clear skin with no markings.....

Now if that is the requirement for men, I am sure the ladies is nothing but looks...that goes for the air force as well...

I was DE. I had to beat out 2 other guys that were 6'1 to play DE. It turns out the coaches finally
realized that smarts outweighs anything else...they would always try to put them back in but they

Oh wow I didn't know that!! So basically, if you're in the army or whatever division, doesn't matter what your duty is, you can at some point be called to go anywhere to do anything right?

I think that is quite scary actually..If I were in the navy I would be scared too escorting people around!!!

Yeah yeah, I hate being 5'7...to be atleast it seems the beginning of being tall. I always group it as 5'7+ and anyone below me would be considered short.....lol....

I think a perfect height for me would be 5'9......

I played DT, but I was really fast, and could squat 405# so, made up for only being 200-205. .Hey, since you asked about what I do at work, I still am trying to find out. When I was in the Navy, you would usually have a two week turnover with who you replaced to find out the job. Not so much here.
