  • Matt Kemp is open for a trade, but I want nothing to do with it. He is due 109 million over the next 5 seasons. We have enough bad contracts on the team already. Why add another one?

Because they are the Yankees. Another reason is they probably think the Red Sox would go after him. This is a typical Yankee move IMO. Throw more money at things and see if it works, never rebuilding. They would probably trade Mason Williams and Tyler Austin for him. And JR Murphy.

I'm not interested either, and neither are the Yankees. Kemp is a shell of his former self. He's LA's version of an A-Rod contract.

Thank God it's not on the same day of the Giants' home opener!

Wow. Someone is getting fired over that. Why on earth would you have that on the NFL's opening day! It is going to be washed out.

Also, its on the same time as the Jets opener, at home. Ouch. Very very stupid decision to do it on that day. I will be watching NFL and not that, unfortunately. Ill DVR Jeters I guess.

Yeah, I was hoping it would be on a Saturday. Oh well. At least it's not on the 21st. Now I can go to the Giants vs Texans game.

                No pressure McCarthy....

Another solid performance by McCarthey as a New York Yankee. That trade is looking PRETTY GOOD so far!!

                • Well the people that want us to trade most of the vets just got what they didn't want. I am not sure what to make of this sweep of the reds. Do we buy or sell?

I still sell, by a mile. The Reds are slumping right now. I want them to win so it kinda sucks, but they are at best a one and done in the postseason.

Went to the game today. Great win, and a great day to be at Yankee Stadium!

First of all, the people who want the Yankees to sell our veterans, I ask this. Who is going to want our veterans??

The Yankee players that have value for prospects are our relievers, and Gardner. Nobody is interested in trading their prospects for Teireira, Beltran, McCann, Ichiro, etc. So please, lets get back to reality.

The answer is, the Yankees are screwed for a while. They should have delt Cano last year and Kuroda when he was on fire.

They've got the resources to rebuild in a hurry. I just read in Baseball America earlier this week, as to how the Yankees went wild in the international pool this month, and signed a decent amount of prospects..

                          • I still haven't given up hope that McCann was a good long term signing. I know his BA is miserable so far, but he was too consistent in all past seasons for him not to come out of it. Maybe this team would be in first place, if he (and some others) were hitting somewhere near expectations - but many teams could say the same for their signings... And I think he's done an excellent job with all the different starters he's worked with - especially the rookies and bullpen. Starters' injuries are not on him, I don't suspect?

                            • This game has been quite annoying to watch with these commentators begging for the red sox to get back in the race. TV just got muted and I turned on the radio.
