  • Lets face it, they cant compete with the constant and continuous injuries to starters. We lost half our infield in the last week. We now have Thor, Familia, Walker, Cabrerra, Harvey and Legares out, and most of them for long term. Walker and Leagares have been raking recently, and Cabrerra hit 2 homers the night before he went on the DL. You cant make this stuff up.

Cespedes is basically playin on eggshells - does anyone doubt he will end up on the DL again this year? Even Conforto was out for several games. The list of players that have not been on the DL is probably shorter than the ones that have.

Combine that with a Jekyll and Hyde starting rotation, an exhausted and thin BP, and several players batting below or around .200, its just not a good team. Sad but true.

His legs were my biggest concern when they gave him the contract.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it.

Well, he is back, and I am still more worried about the pitching. ;-(

But the fact that they are baby-stepping him is not encouraging.

Why is it the Mets players have been so injury probe over say past 6/7 years? What's the issue??

Up until last season it was the same for the Giant's who were the most injured team 3/4 years in a row. But you can understand a little more in football with the speed and contact guts getting dinged up. But in baseball their should not be this many injuries piling up year after year to tons of players
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

          # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
          2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
          3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
          4-New York Giants!!!
          5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

The Mets have that effect on Teams. 3 losses in a row pretty much ends the the positive turnaround. 8.5 out to start with a chance to pull within 4.5 games with a sweep. Looks like they will end up 12.5 out by getting sweeped and end any thoughts of coming back on them

6 guys in their starting lineup are hitting over 290, 4 over 300. We have 2 over 290 and 2 below 220. Our staring pitching was supposed to mitigate their bats - so much for that.

They are just a WAY better team right now, with motivation to step on our necks. Which they are doing quite well.

                • How do other teams acquire all those good bats and we get good prospects that don't prosper?? we are doing something wrong. they need to either recruit better or scout better or train them better when they get here! something has to change!

Big deal they still lost 2 games in standings and more players to injury. It never ends with this team

Maybe The Injury bug will fly away for 2017 and leave the Mets alone
Guess the injury bug didn't try hard enough to fly away. That post was from 11/2016

                              • I was looking at the numbers today. For all intents and purposes, their post season possibilities are slim and none. They'd frankly be better off looking to sell at the AS break, fix their structural issues and retool for next year. The injuries coupled with horrendous play early did them in. You hate to say that in June but Alderson swung and missed big this year. He went into the year with a lot of pitchers coming off injuries and he ignored the bullpen, which was a huge miscalculation.
