  • There isnt an offensive lineman in this draft worth a top five pick. The last thing they want to do is reach out of desperation. Plenty of very good talent2nd and 3rd...or a trade down in the 1st.

    • Orlando brown looked very good in run blocking in this game>>>>

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UolRyHaias

saw him struggle a bit on a couple stunts in the latest game

overall he has been lights out. he will go very high IMO.

on the flip side mcglinchey hasn't lived up to the billing, struggling a bit against better competition and speed.

      trying to rank the O Tackles....first attempt>>>>

      1. connor williams
      2. martinas rankin
      3. orlando brown
      4. tyrell crosby
      5. mike mcglinchey
      6. jamarco jones
      6 a. Chumura Okorafor
      6b. Geroen Christian
6b. Timon Paris (very good but against small school competition)
      7. martinez ivey (is he a guard?)
      8. Trey Adams (injury concerns and whether or not he declares?) should be higher though based purely on talent
      9. Brian O'neil
      9a. Bentley Spain
      10. Mitch Hyatt

10a. toby weathersby (could be higher, not seen much on him)

Query? could Q nelson play Left Tackle? i do not see why not?

      here is draft wires rankings>>>>>

      • Quenton Nelson has hall of fame potential. Picking him would assure a running game for the next 10 years. I like Rosen/Darnold, but if neither of those guys is available, Nelson is my guy. I also like Jamarco Jones in RD 2. I think he has the makings of a very good NFL LT. Not sure why his draft stock isn't higher. He has the feet, ideal size, and plays for a big time program at Ohio St. where he has been an ALL BIG 10 conference player.

I agree with most of this. I was high on Hyatt but he has tailed off immensely and I honestly think he will return to school. Adams has said he is returning to school after his injury. Here are my rankings:

          1. Williams
          2. Brown
          3. Crosby
          4. Rankin
          5. Okarofor
          6. McGlinchey
          7. O'Neill ( I think if he gets a bit stronger, he could be real good)
          8. Jamarco Jones
          9. Ivey ( I have to admit I have not watched eneough of him yet)

With Nelson, I am sure he could play either OT position but he is such a great player at OG, that I think moving him would be a mistake.

              Right now id rank them

              Williams
              Brown
              Crosby
              McGlinchey
              Rankin

Honestly im not too familiar with the rest. If Williams wasnt injured id be all for him in the 1st, but ya know....

Its too bad Flowers has been playing excellent so far, this makes me feel like pur FO is going to stick with him, which sucks cause I would LOVE to have Williams, Brown, McGlinchey, or Crosby, but i dont think we are going OT in the 1st

As for Nelson, i think hes the best OL in the draft but i dont think hes an LT. I would be ecsatic if we drafted him and traded back to do so, but im not comfortable dropping the 2nd overall pick on a guard

he is a right tackle guy but on more than one play he blocks 2 guys in the above video. pretty impressive. gets out in space... looks pretty consistent.

plus he has the top tackle grade in all of college football from pff

                could be a riser

I think that article may have sold me. Interesting how he was ranked 2nd behind Forrest Lamp last year and is top ranked this yesr

i dunno.... he doesn't jump out at me on tape though...looks like he gets bull rushed too easily for the NFL. i can see why he isn't rated higher is all i'm saying. i think he comes with some risk. looks like a good late round flier guy.

                    • I think it's time to move on from Pugh. 5 years, still hasn't played a full season. This is coming from a guy who likely wants top dollar

Hopefully we can cheaply re-sign Fluker, move Flowers to RT, keep Jones at Center and use the draft to invest in the left side of the offensive line.

I am a big Pugh fan and I think he is a better OL than most give him credit for, but the back injury is a big issue for me. Depending on the price, I would let him walk. Richburg as well.

My biggest knock on Brown was his lack of enthusiasm for lack of a better word, in the run game. With someone his size you would imagine him being a mauler in the run game and sub par in the pass game, when in fact hes the opposite, hes a BEAST in the pass game and is working on his run game. Cant wait to see how the rest of his year goes

ATM hes slowly creeping into the slot of my favorite OT

I agree 100% but if his asking price is too high, im totally cool with getting any combo of Quenton Nelson, Will Hernandez, Billy Price, and Frank Ragnow to totally rejuvenate the interior line
