  • Jets could trade way into Darnold-Rosen hunt

"The Giants may not be the only team in on the Josh Rosen-Sam Darnold sweepstakes.

Hours before the two Los Angeles college quarterbacks announced they were entering the NFL Draft, Jets GM Mike Maccagnan did not hesitate when asked if he would consider trading up from the No. 6 if there was a quarterback he fell in love with.

ďThe simple answer to that question is yes,Ē

Players come and go on the Free Agency Merry-Go-Round, but the N.Y. Giants will always be here!

Imagine if Darnold and Rosen both landed in NY together. The Jets-Giants comparisons would go to a whole new level.

Theres going to be a bunch of teams interested in trading up to get to one of those guys. Lots of QB hungry teams. This QB class has been touted highly, lot of hype. We've seen how thats going before though. I have to say I don't know how I feel. On one hand I feel it would be a mistake not to take one of these guys, how many chances do you get at picking this early, and have a chance a potential franchise QB, when your's currently is done in 2 years. On the other hand, imagine how many draft picks they could get by trading out of the number 2 pick.... Gettlemen has some damn tough decisions to make going foward, however I feel so much better knowing Reese isn't the one making them.

The Jets are the ideal team for us to trade back with being that they have 2 2nd rounders. But I dont think we will deal with them and allow them to get a QB.

If we can pull off a deal like the rams did from the redskins, i'd be all for it. Redskins received: 2012 first-rounder (No. 2: QB Robert Griffin III) Rams received: 2012 first-rounder, 2012 second-round selection, 2013 first-rounder, 2014 first-rounder. That'd be amazing for us....and i feel like it could be a QB frenzy for Darnold and Rosen...so why not take advantage of it.

You know who the Rams got for that blockbuster trade? A bunch of nobodies and Janoris Jenkins and Alec Ogletree.
Jenkins isnít even part of the Rams anymore and Ogletree is a solid linebacker.

I donít think the Giants should trade out of the 2nd spot. The Giants have many holes to fill but most importantly they need a QB. If they gamble trade their pick and donít have a quarterback of the future that would send this franchise further back from contending again. To win in this league you need a franchise QB.

Rosen throws a wobbly ball, doesn't look super smooth and has a previous knee injury. Let the jets have him

Have you watched Rosen at all? The guy is the best pure passer that has come out in years. His mechanics are flawless. The injuries I can see as a worry.

It will cost more than what the Eagles paid to move up. Teams are desperate for Qb' so (the popular opinion) is for the Giants to get one and cost today rather than a fortune to move up tomorrow

but who are we kidding? The Jets will take a TE.

I'll say that no, I haven't been a heavy Rosen watcher. But from what I've seen, I wasn't impressed. Darnold looks much better to me, and I'd even go as far to say that Mayfield looks like more of a winner that Rosen. Overall I'd take Darnold and if the Browns snag him, then lets get Barkley.

Waive bye to Vareen and make our backfield #1 Barkley, #2 Gallman, #3 Darkwa

Darnold is also impressive, but Rosen is nearly flawless as a passer. There are other reason as to not take Rosen but thats something the Giants will have to dig into.

I think you have Rosen mixed up with Eli Manning or Darnold. Rosen is very accurate and throws a nice ball.

OK Jets, you want OUR franchise QB (because the Giants will have a chance at Rosen/Darnold and NEED a franchise QB), I'm not even answering the phone if they aren't offering 3 first round picks and this years 2nd. Yes, I said 3 first rounders! Denver is at least going to offer 2 first rounders and this years 2nd, and they are in front of the Jets. That is the only way you can pry a Franchise QB from a team that needs one. Otherwise, they are going to have to be content with Allen or Mayfield.
