He seemed to press a bit, which caused some turnovers, but there was still a ton of positive to take away from his game. I think he'd be great with a year, maybe two, behind Eli.

I agree, that's why most still have him as the #1 qb.

The Giants taking Darnold makes no sense for a team with a heathy QB, a back up in place, and a million holes to fill!
Taking Darnold, is like repairing a leaking boat with duct tape.
My gosh......the latest mock draft I saw, has the Browns taking 6' Mayfield first and a CB with their 4th, and the Giants taking Darnold, to keep, 2nd.
Barkley still being available at number 3, when the Browns AND the Giants are desperate to fix their running games, is ridiculous!
The number 2 pick on a QB, to sit on the bench for 2 years, fixes nothing.

The Giants have a chance to bridge the gap between two franchise QB's. This makes no sense to you? How?
            NFL Draft (Realistic Hope):

            Rd 1
            Garrett Bolles - OT
            David Njoku - TE
            Zach Cunningham - OLB

From what I'm seeing on this board, people think the Giants are gearing up for a SB run. This team has too many holes to make a run next year. Yes, I know, there are teams that go from worst to first. I get it. But this team has an aging, cement-shoed signal caller. And a gaping hole up front with no, and I repeat, NO offensive line. Just as well, what happened to the D? They were lights out in 2016 and asleep in 2017. Which version is going to show up in 2018? I honestly don't know. But what I do know is that this team has to be rebuilt properly and the front office can't go reaching for picks to get warm bodies on the offensive line. Or pull a Knicks move and give a way first round picks for mediocre players or give away massive contracts to stiffs. Eli is not the future, so he can't be part of the equation. He's 37, not 27. It was fun while it lasted, but it's soon time to move on. Who knows what Webb brings to the table. You have folks saying he is the future. Gettleman didn't draft him and has no allegiances to him. I think if they like what they see in Rosen and Darnold, they'll pull the trigger at #2. Don't get cute and take your eyes off the long game. This is not going to get fixed in one off-season.

The Giants were already thinking about the post-Eli era before and during the 2017 season, so there's no guarantee that Eli will be here for 2 or more years. Especially after he was benched in the middle of a 3-13 season. There's no guarantee that Eli will finish the season as the starter if he struggles in 2018.

The Giants don't have the luxury of passing on a QB this year when their only options are an aging QB with a no-trade clause and a 3rd round pick that wasn't allowed to play in the middle of a 3-13 season. And if the Giants draft a QB at No. 2 he's not sitting for 2 or more years.
One of these teams is not like the others

The problem with head injuries is there isn't a test these guys can do to see when the next one will occur. He was not cleared to play a month after his last concussion. How that alone does not scare the crap out of everyone is beyond me. My gut says that he will be sitting their until the double digit picks. The risk is way too big on him.

I'd go Nelson, Barkley, Chubb or try to trade down. Trading down to #5 is my best case scenario, we add extra picks and still get an impact player.

If we could afford to wait 2 years for a guy like Darnold to be ready to take over then I would draft him, but with the disaster of last season and only 1 playoff game in 6 years we need a guaranteed starter with the 2nd pick. It is time to win now. Q. Nelson or Barkley would be my top 2.

I think Eli needs a distraction free year with his starting receivers back healthy and a future All Pro tight end to throw to. Also an improved O-line and the possibility have having a true game breaker at RB would extend his career at least 2 more seasons.

Drafting a QB with the #2 will just create controversy every time Eli makes a bad throw. The media will stoke the fires and will disrupt the locker room. I can hear it now... "Eli throws a pick, when will Shurmur make the change to Rosen or Darnold". Eli deserves to not have to look over his shoulder. With all his weapons back, I think he can have a good year.

Agree 100%! Drafting a QB #1 will just create drama all yr long as soon as Eli has a bad game, the cries for the new QB to start the next week will begin & that is something the entire team doesn't need. Draft Barkley & fix the OL & Eli will thrive in his last 2 yrs & possibly win a 3rd ring. It's like some of you are afraid this will happen if we draft Barkley.

The Browns will want a Barkley and Darnold combo. I wouldn't be against trading down to 4th ovr, taking the Browns 1st, 2nd [#33], 4th, 1st [2019] and they can throw in Christian Kirksey. Then we could take Nelson, but Mara will want Rosen, so Rosen it is.

                        1: Josh Rosen
                        2: Billy Price
                        2: Derrius Guice
                        3: Tyrell Crosby

That'd be a pretty awesome class and hopefully a few free agents like Norwell and the line should be solid, plus an explosive runner and a quarterback that secures the future.

But Rosen scares me with the injuries, and considering he isn't athletic he may aswell try to bulk up to withstand NFL contact. But the most scary thing is the concussions. If he works through these I think he has great talent, there's no doubt he is the best pure passer in this draft. And those off field issues and conflicts aren't all true. Guess we will find out.

If we trade down this year we could secure two first round picks for 2019. If Eli / Webb do not work out we can always trade for for a QB next year or 2020. Trading down is not the sexy option but it sure could help rebuild the team.

I think most folks around here are very leery of his concussion history, he does throw a really nice ball though. Someone will bite.
