Why I dont think he will have long term success the 1 team that he would scare me on is the Chicago Bears. He could be lethal in that Offense short term. Manziel has thrived with Mike Evans at Texas A&M because he trusted him to win the physical 1 on 1 matches on jump balls, in Chicago he would basically have 2 Mike Evans in Alshon Jeffery and Bradon Marshall. He would have the perfect RB to compliment him in Matt Forte who is outstanding as a check down receiver and could suck teams in for the PA pass. Martellus Bennett another big red zone threat for Manziel to find , his blocking another huge plus. The Bears Oline is improving another year gelling I think they could be a top 10 oline.

+1. I could see the Big Apple Circus Jets going after Manziel if they thought they could get him. They love a QB who will bring them a lot of press, which is all they care about anyway.
One of these teams is not like the others

sure....having the owner step in and tell the football people what to do has worked out so well for other organizations.....like the Redskins....

You missed out. One of the craziest action filled second halves I've seen. Texas A&M in the end was saved by their defense rest couldn't stop duke all night winning the game on a 55 yard pick six to take a 52-48 lead with three minutes left and sealing the win with another INT as duke was driving for winning score with 1:25 left.

The play I think your referring to early in second half he pocket broke down and he stepped up and started to run the jumped over a duke defender and went backwards keeping play Alive for additional 4/5 seconds then finds wind open Evans I think for TD.
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

          # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
          2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
          3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
          4-New York Giants!!!
          5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

I usually dint agree with all your posts / Threads. However he might be onto something here. Timing was right and things had to work out for them to land Eli in 2004. Players like manziel only come along once in a great while. The meaningless wins really hurt our draft position late in the season.

However this kid is a game changer. They may want to consider getting Eli's replacement now and only give Eli a 1/2 year extension. There are a slew of QBs in this years draft that can be our future franchise QB. They should contact the rams for rights to the number 2 pick in the draft and have their choice of everyone except for Bridgewater

Not that I think we go after him - but

I read 8 out of the 10 teams picking first are in need of QB's - you think he'll last?

...and if 8 qbs are selected before we pick, it sure makes our 12th or so spot not so bad for a player at another position.

He won't be there but even if he was, I doubt very much we would pick him. Does not seem like the kind of guy the Giants would be interested in.

If there were 8 QBs taken in the first 10 picks, that would be awesome for us...

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite team in the NFL.

Well that's why I said we'd have to trade up and take the rams spot or someone else in first 2/4 picks. It's almost certain Houston is going with Bridgewater from what people are saying but you'd think Texans fans would want them to take the Texas A&M player. However if they go with Bridgewater I think we would get him at 2 or 3. Most mocks have Johnny going 2/3/4 up to 5/6.

We'd have to do what we did in 2004 make a trade or trade up to get him. I know he is small but he reminds me so much of Fran Tarkenton who played for Minny and giants. Was small but so elusive. This kid will be able to do that in pros

True. The we'd have choice of Matthews or Evans or a lot of solid players

Most likely wouldn't happen, but if its a rich QB class and that many teams in need it could really work in our favor.

This is exactly what we need, 3-4 quarterbacks taken.

WAY too early to give up on Eli. The way that things are looking, the majority of teams in front of us could quite possibly leaving us with a TON of great players to choose from. Build the line and then re-assess the QB position. And remember its not like Eli has gone through a bunch of coordinator/coach changes, he's had the same OC and HC since he's been in the NFL
