if/when weed becomes federally legal like alcohol, you will most likely be able to smoke weed on your own time like you can drink on your own time as long as you dont show up to work intoxicated. What makes weed and alcohol different if weed becomes federally legal
My companies policy makers do not look at it that way , No drugs without a script. You can believe what you want. That is the way it is. No mind altering drugs period. Addicts steal .
There's two times of year for me: Football season, and waiting for football season.

That's not how it works. If it is legal federally some day, companies have the power to enforce workplace drug policies just like EVERY SINGLE legalized marijuana state currently has. So your state might have legalized marijuana but an exemption within the law will allow businesses to override it as they should be able to do. You don't want citizens with that much power. Business needs to hold power to decide what their employees can or cannot do. For instance if you are a pilot of an airplane you could come into work high out of your mind and with alcohol on your breath (not legally drunk but just underneath it) and try saying: "I've taken substances that are both legal by the state and I'm not technically drunk by blood alcohol levels" but you won't be flying that plane. You will most likely be fired on the spot because of your agreement with your company when you signed legal documents to acquire that position.

You may say: "But football players aren't airplane pilots!" and you'd be correct. But if you have any business acumen and care about the success of your business you are going to enforce workplace drug policies. So the NFL wouldn't be crazy NOT to enforce it. The entire league would turn into a zoo. The NFL could override federal law by saying: "None of our employees will be allowed to smoke Marijuana. If you do not agree to these terms you cannot have a job with the NFL". Or they will list their forms of punishment for violating terms of the agreement (such as 1 game suspensions, 4 games, full year suspensions without pay, etc) like they currently have. Basically nothing would really change if the NFL enforces workplace drug policies.

If you are a small business owner you could make your own rules or have none at all for workplace drug enforcement.
