NY GIANTS' NEWS AND NOTES: SUNDAY MORNING READING MATERIAL

Excerpt: "Good morning, New York Giants
fans! Here are your Sunday morning news and notes.

    Reese
open to Umenyiora extension | New York Daily News

    When the 2011 season
    began, a frustrated Osi Umenyiora
didn't even seem to want to be a Giant, and resolute GM Jerry Reese was prepared
to engage in a standoff with the pass-rushing end.

    One dramatic Super
Bowl run later, the ice between both sides has thawed. On Friday, during a
Sirius XM Radio interview, Umenyiora said half-jokingly that he would be willing
to take less money to stay with the Giants. And on Saturday, Reese said that the
Giants are open to negotiating a contract extension with the 30-year-old
    defensive end.

"It could happen," Reese said. "But we have a lot of
issues to look at, and we just have to formulate a good game plan and see if we
    can get it done.

"I think he loves the Giants," Reese added. "He loves
to play football. He's been with us his entire career, and I think he'd like to
    retire a Giant." Read more...
