  • Conditioning

    After watching yesterday's Giants/Packers game, I couldn't help but
    notice the lack of conditioning on the Giants side of the ball,
    especially in the third and fourth quarters....

    Thoughts?
    Torque it till it breaks, then back off a 1/4 turn.

      If they tried to work their tails off to get them in shape they'd all be on the DL. That's the biggest problem I see with the Giants & their 2nd half colaspe every year is because the players make the same money sitting on the sidelines.

      Not tough enough.

        there are now rules as to how long and how many practices each team can run. That level of fitness going forward is up to the individual players to maintain on their own, team doesn't have the same level of authority they used to.

          I have to tell you when I read Amukamara was "tired" I went ape ****. YES, he's recovered (past tense) from his injury and I think most of us thought TC held him out too long, but I remember an article where TC said he wanted to be sure Prince could play 55 - 65 snaps. Now we know why. He was not on the field at a critical time.

          I don't know the answer, but I'm guessing, for this season anyway, not having OTA's and organized workouts during the labor dispute didn't help their conditioning.

          You have a rotation system to spell players as they need a rest during games. In our case, some of the guys starting and needing a rest are either rookies or #2's and 3's which makes the transition more pronounced when the starter is taking a break.

          Maybe someone will do a study with an eye to how the lockout affected injuries.
