  • THANK YOU #27 Brandon Jacobs you will be missed big man... Once a Giant, ALWAYS a Giant

You will be a GIANT for life.. one of my favorite players on the team.. had to make my own separate topic for this man... sad day [:'(]

One of the most physically imposing RB's the NFL has seen... no one wanted to tackle him up high

Will be switching to this signature for awhile... don't worry C-Web will be back soon []

Re: THANK YOU #27 Brandon Jacobs you will be missed big man... Once a Giant, ALWAYS a Giant

After releasing Brandon Jacobs on Friday afternoon New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese issued a statement calling the running back "a great Giant."

"Brandon has truly been a great Giant," general manager Reese said.
"These times are always very hard for me. We had a very good
conversation today. We don't know what the future holds for Brandon, but
we wish only the very best for him and his family."

Head coach Tom Coughlin also complemented Jacobs.

"Brandon helped us win two world championships," Coughlin said. "He
always did what was in the best interest of team. No matter what you
asked him to do, he performed and played in whatever role we asked him
to perform. He really was a team player.

"I have always felt like Brandon could be counted on. He's a guy that
is very, very good in meetings for me. He pays attention. He picks up
on the message. He loves the excitement of the game. He loves everything
about it - the pregame routine, the talking to his teammates, trying to
motivate his teammates. He loves every part of it."

Jacobs has, at times, spoken rashly over the years. Friday, he had nothing but good things to say.

"I might be leaving, but my name will stay. The fans have been great
for me. Everything has been good. A standup organization. I was very
close with a lot of people in the organization. They're all a bunch of
great people. The Mara family, the Tisch family, everybody's great. I
just want to thank them for the opportunity that they've given me.

          "But
it's time to move on. We tried, couldn't reach an agreement. It's been
great, though. I can't say anything negative about anybody in the
organization. (Running backs coach) Jerald Ingram, hands down, probably
the best coach I've ever experienced as an athlete. He knows so much
about the game and I learned a lot from him as well."

Good luck Brandon. Have lots of good memories of u as a NYG
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

            # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
            2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
            3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
            4-New York Giants!!!
            5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

Big Jake, will be missed, like when he use to carry 3 guys with him on a run , or when the defense tacklers bounced off him........He helped us win 2 Super Bowls , I wish him well...... Good Luck to you !

Sad Jacobs had to go over a measly 500,000 a year. That's what the two sides couldn't agree on in case you are wondering. Jacobs wanted 2 million a year, the Giants would only offer 1.5.
