GIANTS AGREE TO TERMS WITH TERRELL THOMAS

    "Terrell Thomas kept tweeting today
would be like Christmas for him
    .

Well, he just got a nice present.

The Giants reached an agreement with
the would-be-free-agent cornerback this morning, according
    to ESPN's Adam Schefter
    .

    "It's a
GREAT day to be a NEW YORK GIANT!"
    Thomas tweeted.

    Justin Tuck replied, "yay yay
    yay yay welcome back."

    Terms are not yet available.

Thomas, a second-round pick in 2008, probably wouldn't have come close to
being a free agent had he stayed healthy last season, which he aimed to make a
big year so he could cash in. In training camp, he was working on making breaks
on the football to optimize his chances of eclipsing the five interceptions he'd
had in the previous two seasons.

But a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee - the second of his
football career - ended any hopes of such a big year. Thomas underwent surgery
    and began rehab, saying everything
    was "in accordance"
to what happened during the rehab of his first ACL
injury and claiming he'd be ready to go Week 1.

The re-signing of Thomas means Aaron Ross' time with the Giants is all but
over. The 2007 first-round pick, a starter for both of the organization's last
two Super Bowl titles, will hit the free-agent market at 4 p.m.

    More coming.

I know the FO is smart so i dont think, well at least I hope they didnt overpay for a 2time ACL tear player. We dont know how good this guy is going to be after those injuries or if he can even make a full comeback without hurting it again. I kinda thought they would let him test the market and let him see he is not worth what he thinks and then resign him cheaper. However there could be a stupid WC team that would throw stupid money at him if we gambled like that and we would lose him. We got hixon cheap and he has had 2 ACLs as well.

Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

                  # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
                  2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
                  3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
                  4-New York Giants!!!
                  5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

However guys dont think I am not happy with him resigning. I am very excited if it all works out we can have a SHUT DOWN Secondary.

I just dont want to overpay knowing all the other guys we still have to try and resign

[/quote]I pretty much agree with this. I'm really glad we retained him. I'll be even more happy if he came realtively cheap. I would assume this is a short term contract to see if he can establish himself as fully healed. We'll see I guess.

Retaining Ross is a dream. Tell me which of Ross, Pince, Webster and THomas would be ok being the 4th CB.

And I wouldnt worry too much about overpaying for an injured player. The Giants doctors seems to know what they are doing and its a short , minimal contract anyways.
