GIANTS SIGN FORMER REDSKINS' SAFETY CHRIS HORTON

    "The Giants signed
    a former Dallas Cowboy
    , have
brought in another one for a visit
and now have added a one-time Washington
    Redskin.

The team signed defensive back Chris Horton, according to his agent Gary
    Uberstine.

Horton, Washington's seventh-round pick in 2008, started 15 games in his
first two seasons combined. In 2010, Horton suffered an ankle injury that landed
him on injured reserve in late October. He was released at final cuts last
    season.

Horton, 27, had three interceptions and a sack as a rookie. He's expected to
contribute on special teams with the Giants.

    "Congrats," Redskins
    safety Reed Doughty tweeted
to Horton. "They have a good (special) teams
coach (Tom Quinn), too. Good luck."

We've added Horton to our Giants
    free-agency tracker
    .

Meanwhile, DT Jimmy Kennedy is saying his goodbyes to the Giants'
organization on Twitter right now, though it seems like it has more to do with a
report than the team telling him he's gone.

"I will always Love The Giants for allowing me to be apart of my Hometown
team. To Win the Superbowl in New York was amazing," he
    tweeted
. "The respect that I have for the Giants organization will always
remain high. They are a group of Classy Men. Thank you
    NYG!
    "

At one point Kennedy congratulated DT Rocky Bernard because he read the team
is interested in having him return. Uberstine, who also represents Bernard, said
his client has not re-signed with the team as of yet."

“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.” MB Rule # 1

It's a good pick up for depth, I like this pick up he started at one point for Redskins. So special teams will be upgraded this guy have potential.

Re: GIANTS SIGN FORMER REDSKINS' SAFETY CHRIS HORTON

Being from and living in the DC area. I watch almost every skins game that is played as long as it doesn't interfere with big blue. To be honest, this guy is not going to start but he will be a solid contributor on special teams. He started a handful of games his rookie year and showed some promise. Got a little exposed the following year trading starts with reed doughty. Definitely not as much of a scrub as CC brown, but then again that doesn't say much. Strictly depth....and heck if Chad Jones makes the team there might not be any room for 5 safeties

I like the kid. I think he showed a lot of heart his rookie year. He's a hard hitter too

The article said he was pretty much signed for special teams depth. I think this Horton is going to replace the role of S Derrick Martin (FA), who probably won't be re-signed now. Welcome aboard!
