  • Rumor:Panthers Trade Jonathan Stewart to Giants(DEAL NOT DONE YET)

Rumors are swirling up on Twitter than the Panthers are shopping RB Jonathan Stewart, and the Giants have come calling.

The rumors even went as far as to say that the deal was done earlier today, but ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that the deal is not done...at least not yet.

The Panthers signed RB Mike Tolbert about a week ago, and they now have a clog at RB with DeAngelo Williams, Stewart, and Tolbert. It makes sense that they would be looking to trade Stewart. And with the us recently dropping Jacobs, it would be a logical pickup for us as well.

I can't find any articles on it, so here is a Twitter search.

    https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/giants%20stewart

And here is an article on the speculation.

Didn't they want a second rounder for him? Hopefully if we do get him it is for like a fourth this year and next year at most.

Let me edit the thread title so people don't actually think the deal is done yet.

I will say, I think this could be a good move for us. I trust Reese knows what he's doing, and a Stewart + Bradshaw combo would be pretty sweet.

Osi for Stewart straight up seems like a bad trade for us. I hope not. I'm hoping we can get more for Osi than a backup RB.

lol, If Osi goes, I guess we know what we can count on in Round 1 this year.

not a chance JR trades defense for a RB.
