  • I am really wondering how the O-Line is going to Look, here is my initial thought

    LT - Beatty | LG - Boothe | C - Baas | RG - Snee | RT - Diehl

I think this is how Coughlin would like the configuration to look, at least initially.

I would really love to see if Brewer could be the answer at RT, at some point. I know Diehl has played a lot of games for us, but I think he is not a good OL anymore.

I'd love to hear other folks' thoughts on this.

I expect Mosely to beat out Brewer and Deihl at some point in the next two seasons.

I'm hoping Petrus steps up for LG.
Because of all of the effort and examination being poured into these predictions, the draft is a robust market that, in the aggregate, does a good job of sorting prospects from top to bottom.1 Yet despite so many people trying to “beat the market,” no single actor can do it consistently. Abnormal returns are likely due to luck, not skill. But that hasn’t stopped NFL executives from behaving with the confidence of traders.

I thought their run game looked better with Petrus - Boothe - Snee anchoring the middle.

I think the only real questions are at the tackle spots. Boothe and Snee have the guard spots locked up. (even though for some reason everyone seems to love Petrus. Boothe earned it last year.)

And Baas makes too much money that they aren't going to bail on him yet. He will be given the chance to succeed.

IMO, Beatty while not great, deserves a shot at the LT spot if healthy.

My only concern is how loyal TC is to Diehl. I guess RT would be ok for him but not LT or LG.

If Baas can't stay on the field we're going to see Boothy at center and Petrus issuing pancakes at RT Gaurd

I really feel this is Diehl's last year here. Just with the contracts they're going to have to pony up next year, I think he'll be released along with Canty on defense to free up money. The Giants already brought in depth at tackle the last two years and Mosley can play either (T/G) so they have some depth at Guard as well.

Sad to say but I think Diehl's definitely a goner after this season.

I'd say that looks about right.

I'm guessing that they aren't all that confident in Brewer judging by the fact that we drafted two OT (one being a RT specialist).

DD played with a broken hand last year ... I'm thinking he will bounce back just fine.
I don't always root for the Cowboys but when I do I wear my pink Jessica Simpson edition Romo jersey. (yes I lost a bet)

Ill go out on a limb and say our OL will look like

                  LT- Beatty
                  LG- Baas
                  C- Boothe
                  RG- Snee
                  RT- Diehl

i know this might sound crazy, but what if the ol looked like

                    beatty petrus bass snee boothe

the RT is usually better at run blocking then pass protection but of course u want a guy who can do both well.

i know boothes frame doesnt really jump out and scream RT, but a guy like cordy glenn isnt much different iirc in terms of body build...and boothe has shown to me at least that he may have the footwork to be able to move out to RT...dunno, just throwing out ideas...imho, i'd rather boothe at RT than DD...love DD as a giant, he epitomizes giants football; heart, courage, loyalty, willpower...but he was literally the worst ranked G AND T last season...

Definitely an interesting idea. Not sure of his experience at tackle but... after the last two seasons with Diehl playing tackle my comfort level hasn't been too great.

I think it's a stretch considering the guys they've drafted the last two years but it is interesting. Personally I'm just all for seeing Petrus get reps at guard...that's what I'm a fan of.

IMO the most likely line-up is Beatty, Boothe, Baas, Snee and DD.

However, don't discount the giants signign Sean Locklear, he was a longtime starter at RT for the seahawks and also started at LT for them as well.

He can definintly play into things, or even be the swing OT.

Unfortunately I just don't see them getting rid of Baas since they gave him that contract. Hopefully he really improves, some have said he was nowhere near 100% and most likely played at 70%. In terms of likely lineup:

                          Beatty-Boothe-Baas-Snee-Diehl

I think Brewer eventually takes the RT spot.

We have all the bodies we need, with depth.

But I have no idea if the coaching staff can get any 5 of them to work together and be bullet proof for Eli AND run block. Run blocking kinda sucked last year.

Write it down, I am predicting that the giants Offensive Line will be the biggest reason why they will struggle to even make the playoffs. Outside of Snee, no one has a shot of even making the pro bowl. That is how weak the line will be. I saw signs of it even in the Superbowl. Base on the thread starter list, that is one terrible line.

Beatty: What has he done when given a chance? I haven't seen much of him yet.
Boothe: Stink!!! nothing else to say.
Baas: Average at best and might be injury prone.
Snee: The only good Giants Offensive Lineman.
Diehl: At tackle? what a joke. He is better at the guard position where he is average at best.

Receivers will be good, but running backs will struggle because of the weak line as well as Eli a bit.

If healthy after the preseason, the defense should be a little better, but we shall see.

If I was assisting the Giants GM, the G-Men probably would win every year lol.[]
