GIANTS' PRINCE AMUKAMARA RUNS FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE UNDERGOING FOOT PROCEDURE

"The Giants are optimistic that Hakeem
Nicks will be able to make a full and speedy recovery
    after breaking the
fifth metatarsal of his right foot last Thursday. If anything, they hope his
recovery will be better than Prince Amukamara's last season.

Amukamara suffered the injury during the first week of training camp last
August and was off the field for about 15 weeks. He didn't appear in a game
until Week 9 against the Eagles.

Amukamara said he felt 100 percent by the end of the season, but still
underwent a procedure in which an injection was made in his foot to promote
    healing.

"The bone wasn't healing as fast as they wanted it to even though I said I
felt great," Amukamara said today at the annual Giants Foundation golf outing at
Westchester Country Club to benefit youth-related charities in the Tri-state
area. "But they just wanted to make sure everything looked good and matched with
    how I felt."

Today, Amukamara ran for the first time since he the procedure was done in
    March.

"I started running on the grass today," Amukamara said. "They just told me to
do the little stuff: karaoke, run some sprints, and do the figure eight just to
see if I felt any tenderness. But I didn't so things are looking good right
    now."

Amukamara said it was easy to stay in shape while recovering because of
various training techniques that avoid stress on the foot and it's possible that
he can join his teammates at veterans minicamp next month.

"I think it just depends on how I'm feeling," Amukamara said. "If I start
feeling 100 percent everyday and there's not soreness, I think they'll let me
    in."

Doesn't sound good for Nicks if an injury like this can linger this long for Prince.

Everybody heals differently, but even at 12 weeks, we should be OK

We'll be OK without complications. 9 months later and Prince still needs another month to get back on the field. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

Again, everyone heals differently. Nicks has been injured before but has never missed more than two games in a season. Let's give it the benefit of the doubt and in the meantime, enjoy the WR competition for slots 2, 3, and 4. All of those reps will serve us well in WR depth.

Nicks has a good rappore with eli, him missing time doesnt hurt us. But thqt wr competition will help us so things should work out great

Nicks has had some strange injuries and he always seems to get on the field sooner than expected. Don't forget Prince was a rookie in a lock out season last year. The foot probably wasn't the only reason why they where holding him back. He had 0 experience and they where in the middle of the season.

Prince looked awesome late last year and in the the post season.

Well, some good news for a change!

I think they let Nicks heal and don't rush him. He will be important at the end of the season.

Don't foot surgeries take about 10 to 12 months to completely heal? Look at Bradshaw he hasn't been completely healed since 2007 season right?

He also had a foot procedure?... At this rate, we're going to have 15 starters with some kind of medical procedure before the pre-season starts.

I can't take this. I gotta stop coming here in the off season...
