  • What's the matter with kids these days?!!!!!

Warning, what you are about to read is not for the squeemish nor faint of heart. It is a tale of great sorrow and misery.A father's nightmare! Women and children should read no further!

So, I took my 15 year old daughter on her first supervised date to the mall and the movies today. This was the first time I was meeting "Nick". A 16 year old guitar player. Of course this is automatically a red flag, but I was thinking I'd give him a chance (being kindred spirits and all), before I decided if I was going to lock her in the basement or not.

Well, Nick shows up in an Eagles cap!!! My first thought was "Where did I go wrong as a parent??!!" and "Am I being punked??!!".Not wanting to embarass my daughter RIGHT AWAY, I swallowed hard and shook his hand.

I had forced them to see the same movie as me and my 7 year old son, Madagascar 3D (an hour and a half of wasted time and money)...always within eyeshot of me, but farenough that they could talk without me listening in.

Then the movie is over...so far so good....then it begins. "So, you're a Giants fan?" OK, gloves were off, I was ready to go......and you know what? You can't smack talk with kids. They don't get it. He had no idea why fans of the Giants and Eagles would hate each other so much!!!

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE KIDS TODAY?!!!

I stopped fighting my inner demons. We're on the same side now.

      This is a classic post!

But wait a second F, what's up with your daughter? I'm sure she's a lovely girl but how could she even think about dating a division rival? You need to lay some serious guilt on her!

Rules for our daughters - boyfriends MUST be Giants fans! lol.
Torque it till it breaks, then back off a 1/4 turn.

I'd rather my daughter just date a kid who has no interest in sports whatsoever. I, as I'm sure most guys on this board, can be such an ******* when my teams lose.

Your kid must like you a lot though, if she's cool with you going on a date with her. I use to just lie when I was 14.

[/quote]One of my best friends married an eagles fan. We would tease him and ask how was his eaglet. Anyway she comes from a family of diehard eagles fans. Overtime though he has been converting her over to our side.
Football has been very, very good to us.
After losing seasons 2013-15, the giants put up 11 wins in 16.. they are on way Back
But for now we can console ourselves with this fact-

                      # of Super Bowl victories since 1985:

1-Chicago, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Seattle
                      2-Washington, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Baltimore
                      3-San Francisco, Dallas, Denver
                      4-New York Giants!!!
                      5-NE
Let's make it 5 in 2016 so we can be on a LINE NE again!!!

Great story! My daughter is dating a Giants/Yankees fan; however, she is going off to school this year to the Boston area. I told her if she comes home a Red Sox or Patriots fan I'll disown her.
