  • Hello Giants Nation

We're getting close to training camp and that means the season is almost here. Are you guys ready? Did you pick up your new Nike Jerseys yet? I haven't gotten mines yet but I'll definitely have one or 2 b4 the season starts. I got a New Era snapback so that's a start.

So who's heading down to training camp? I wanna get my rookie Eli signed so I can frame it (yeah I got one of those, been had it for the folks who think I hate Eli lol). How hard is it to interact with the players for those who attended in the past? What can I purchase there and so on and so on? Your answers will be appreciated.

For some reason, I'm not all that excited yet. I still feel the effects of the Giants winning their 4th Superbowl.

A lot of players sign at training camp. However, you better be in the right place at the right time if you have any chance of catching Eli. That won't be easy.

I'm excited. The Nike jerseys have a nice feel to them so I really want to buy one.

        But who? Not sure yet.

I already have a JPP and Tuck.

Might go Eli or Nicks this time around

Know this is the Giants board but if anyone is interested in going to Jets camp in Cortland NY there is a great Hotel only 10 minutes from camp.

2 years ago some of the players stayed here, plenty to do besides the Jets.

You know out of maybe 3-6,000 people give or take he signs maybe 30-40 a time I would estimate

That being said I lucked out like crazy been to Albany two years once for autograph day( horrible day to go- very busy) and one year I went for three days the first three of camp to be exact( which produced a lot more sigs and is the way to go)

I got Eli to sign for me two times including my rookie Eli jersey
              Ironically...!
Just plain luck ( although both times I had something for him to sign that's unique!!)

His jersey but I had it on a board ready to sign....big!
And the next year I had a big super bowl stadium shot
Always thought that might have something to do with it!

Now I feel I should warn you Eli seems to have two sigs
              His nice full name signature

and then his training camp 4000 mobbing crazy fans signatures!
It's not the best and for me..... I think it looks ehhhh kinda wish I had his nice full name on my framed Eli jersey! Just an FYI

Also I went when there were 2 practices most days now theres only one so that hurts because the best time was the early morning practices on like a tues now they are all mid day!

Anyhow it's awesome signatures or not so have fun !

Having your young son or daughter certainly helps.

Coach Pope handed my daughter a stick of gum as he walked by us during the '08 training camp, and said to her "it's Super Bowl gum."

I live about an hour from Albany and I have been to every camp since it has been there in 96.....Getting autographs has a lot to do with luck and sometimes being in the right place at the right time....My kids and I have gotten autographs from almost every player with the exception of a couple....Toomer and Shocky come to mind....but other than that...I can't think of many through the years.

To go there planning on getting Eli is probably setting yourself up for a let down....Not impossible....but very tough.Camp will be very different this year only having one session /day...it tends to eliminate certain prime autograph times..........the main advice I would give you is pay attention and keep your eyes open.....cause sometimes it is a matter of opportunity.....it also has a lot to do with being able to recognize players when in street clothes.

BTW as someone else noted...kids are more likely to have success than adults....pretty girls seem to do well too( can't imagine why)

                        Good luck

Thanks guys, it's always good to get a heads up and I will definitely be bringing the family along... maybe even put my kids in wheelchairs lol j/k. I'm gonna try to get there a few hrs early to get a good spot or to try to catch the players walking in. It'll be great to*catch*up with Eli so I can frame this jersey and auction it off to some rich guy in a few decades haha. I read everyone's post and I definitely appreciate the feedback. This should be interesting.

I can't wait for the season. We had a great 2008 season coming off Superbowl 42, and ironically, a similar schedule too.

Losing some of the players we did won't affect us as much, besides Jake Ballard I think. Plus, I intend to see Darrell Scott (I cant spell his first name right) get some more snaps this year too. I've been wanting to see more of him and hopefully he returns more kicks also.
